The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program offers free tax help to people who generally make $67,000 or less, persons with disabilities, the elderly, and limited English-speaking taxpayers who need assistance in preparing their own tax returns. IRS-certified volunteers will provide free basic income tax return preparation with electronic filing to qualified individuals. Preparers are provided to the library by Mesa United Way.

Four Cities. Four Library Systems. One Champion! Come join the second annual Inter-City Puzzle Tournament. Chandler Public Library, Mesa Public Library, Tempe Public Library and now, Scottsdale Public Library (Main Branch) will compete to see what city has the fastest puzzlers. You’ll have a set time to complete the same 500-piece puzzle, and the top team from each branch will move on to the final round at the Mesa Main Branch Library (64 E 1st St, Mesa, AZ 85201) on Saturday, February 7th from 12:00pm - 1:30pm.
Tournament Rules: Form a team of two and register your team captain online at your preferred branch.There are limited slots, so only register one name per team. Your captain will be the main contact for the event. You can only register for one spot at any branch. You can only register at one library system. All teams will be given the same 500-piece puzzle and have 90 minutes to complete it. The team that finishes first wins. If no team finishes, the winner will be the one with the fewest pieces left. In case of a tie, teams will get an extra five minutes to continue.
