Mesa Public Library is excited to partner with the Arizona State Library and welcome Marc Mason as our Writer in Residence from October 1 to December 31. Marc Mason has been a professional writer since 1987. His career has spanned newspapers, magazines, comic books, young adult novels, travelogues, and more. He recently retired from Arizona State University after 35 years as a librarian and faculty member, teaching topics like critical thinking and information literacy, specializing in working with freshmen and international students. He resides with his wife Sophia, step-children Alex and Annie, and dogs Cosmo and Flora in Tempe. During his time as the Writer in Residence, he will offer writing consultations to help aspiring authors fine-tune their work at Red Mountain Library. There is a limit of 1 signup per week and 2 per month.This project is supported by the Arizona State Library, Archives & Public Records, a division of the Secretary of State, with federal funds from the Institute of Museum and Library Services.

The Kith and Kin Program, a program of Candelen, is a 10-week series designed for family, friend and neighbor (FFN) caregivers; grandparents, family members, friends, neighbors and unrelated adults that support families with their childcare needs.
PUZZLE COMPETITION ☑

Teams of 2-3 will go head-to-head in completing a 500-piece jigsaw puzzle in less than 90 minutes. Find your team members and have 1 person from your team register for 1 of the 8 spots. Winning team members will get a special creation from THINKspot. Please note that this is not a part of the tri-city competition. Ages 12+
