Join Dr Susan Arthure, Research Fellow in Archaeology at Flinders University, as she reveals how a group of nineteenthcentury Irish migrants built an Irish-style village in the rural heart of South Australia—and fiercely protected it for nearly a century.

Aboriginal Artefacts, Plants and Their Uses

Join Trent Hill as he gives an introduction to Aboriginal Culture and the diversity of Aboriginal people.

Discover the traditional methods of making artefacts (tools) for living and their uses. Learn about the traditional uses of trees and plants by Aboriginal people for food, medicine and tools, as well as seasonal movements and the roles of men, women and children.

Cardboard Animal Masks

Join Rebecca from Rebecca Prince Visual Art for a fun children's workshop in which participants can learn how to construct a 3D animal mask from cardboard.

Children will use staples, hot glue and tape to construct the mask and will paint their mask with tempera or acrylic paints upon completion of construction. This workshop is great for continued imaginative play after the session.

Metal Embossing Christmas Decorations

Join Rebecca from Rebecca Prince Visual Art for a creative children's workshop using aluminium flashing to create hanging Christmas decorations.

Children will learn how to design their decorations, create patterns and use various types of embossing tools to create interesting and tactile patterns and marks. These decorations will then be completed using markers to colour the metal.

Piano Chicks

The women, the glamour, the gossip and the music. Piano Chicks is a cabaret about the girls who sit behind the piano for a living: Carole King, Carly Simon, Tori Amos, Sarah McLaughlin, Norah Jones, Alicia Keys and more. Becky Blake (Chunky Custard) first brought Piano Chicks to the world in 2012, weaving the tales and tunes of these incredible women with anecdotes from her own international career. In the latest version, she revisits her original show and reflects upon her journey over the last 13 years, supported by a dynamic band of guitar, drums and cello.

Halloween Disco

Our ghostly DJ's will take over the party with the latest kids' music, dancing games and singing. Plus, there'll be smoke machines, laser lighting and a themed glitter tattoo station. Old is the new black! 70 is the new 50! We’re over the hill and skateboarding down the other side, metaphorically speaking! We're retired, but not retiring. We’re grabbing what’s left of life by the short and curlies in sketches, songs and more!

Vegetable seeds are preferred but herbs and flowers are also accepted.

Where can I donate?

Seeds can be donated at Cove Civic Centre, Park Holme Library or Marion Cultural Centre Library.

How do I donate?

Please ensure seed donations are offered in sealed packets or bags, clearly labelled with the name or variety, date of collection and any additional information included.
