Vegetable seeds are preferred but herbs and flowers are also accepted.

How do I donate?

Please ensure seed donations are offered in sealed packets or bags, clearly labelled with the name or variety, date of collection and any additional information included.

Seed Raising for the Summer Garden

Join Patch of Plenty and learn to raise your own veggies from seed. With a focus on summer crops to sow now, we’ll discuss a number of materials and approaches to help you save money, grow better veggies, and take your gardening to the next level by growing your own seedlings.

We’ll also get our hands dirty trying out different recipes for a simple seed raising mix you can make at home. Participants will fill their own seedling trays to take home and transplant when ready.

Citizen Science Corner: FrogWatch SA

Check out our Citizen Science Corner at Park Holme Library! This is a new space where people of all ages can get involved in real-world scientific studies and contribute to local conservation efforts.

Our first featured project is FrogWatch SA, where you can help track frog activity in the Oaklands Park Wetlands and surrounding areas using the FrogSpotter app.

Little Bang Discovery Club

Let imaginations run wild and creativity take the lead with Nature Play SA and build your own adventure. An interactive nature play session, designed for curious kids and adventurous families!

Kids will love designing and building their very own cubbies using natural materials. It’s teamwork, problem-solving and creativity all rolled into one wild adventure. This is an outdoor event and adult supervision is required.

There’s a Diprotodon in My Garden!

Have you ever wondered what prehistoric animals used to walk where you now live? Or thought about digging for fossils in your own back garden, just in case there might be something there? And have you ever wondered what you should do in the event of finding a fossil?

In There’s a Diprotodon in my Garden!, palaeontologist Professor Flint from Dinosaur University takes you on an adventure to discover the megafauna that once inhabited our unique corner of the globe. As a singing palaeontologist, he might even sing a song or two!

On loan from the South Australian Museum, this incredible specimen offers a unique glimpse into the prehistoric past of our region.

Have Your First Experience with Ochre Play

In this session, Southern Cultural Immersion will lead you through an Ochre Painting class aimed at younger emerging artists.

Experience South Australia’s First Bilingual French and English Story

Join renowned Language Specialist and Pop Culture Historian, Stuart A Blair, for a special celebration of his new bilingual storybook, Les Aventures de Paris et Freddie, the first French and English bilingual storybook, including Auslan created and set in South Australia. This book is suitable for readers from year 6 through to adult language students.

Enjoy a live reading, explore the history of comics and gain insights into Stuart’s collaboration with illustrator Joanna Hassam. Joanna will lead a drawing tutorial, giving you the chance to try your hand at illustration!

Say Hello To Your First Children's Author: Liam Kelly 'Warrens Wombat Adventure'

Join teacher, linguist and cultural anthropologist Liam Kelly as he shares his children’s picture book Warren’s Wombat Adventure. A southern hairy nosed wombat is in a spot of bother. How will Warren dig his way out of this hairy situation?

Featuring Kaurna, Pitjantjatjara and English language Liam takes young readers on an exciting journey through South Australia’s rich landscapes and iconic landmarks. Books will be available for purchase and signing.

Game On: Boss Level

Matty Grey is heading back to Game Land one final time. Joined by an elite team of gamers, Matty and the audience must battle their way through five boss levels to get to the mega boss of all video games. Boss Level pits the best video-game villains from past, present and future against the audience in a series of live-action games. Not everyone will make it – those who do will be showered with glory; those who don't will be left on the roadside to wallow in misery!
