A Chance to Dance

Our Chance to Dance Programs are the best opportunity for members of our special needs communities and their families to enjoy cutting up the dance floor and letting loose! These dances vary throughout the year and follow a theme so be sure to check out our offerings all year round!

Cultural Celebrations

From Holi to Dia de los Muertos and everything in between, Thrive is a great place to learn about cultural celebrations and the beauty of some amazing holidays from around the world. Join us all year round as we celebrate events such as Holi, Lunar New Year, Dia de los Muertos, Yi Peng, and more. These celebrations will change annually to ensure we are continuously offering the best opportunities for our community.

Mariposas

Mariposas is a celebration of this iconic pollinator where we galvanize the best conservation organizations in North Texas to educate, play, and explore la monarca.

Ducky Derby

Our Ducky Derby is the coolest event this summer, so don’t miss out at this unique community event.

Held at our Sun Valley Aquatic Center, participants are invited to Duck-orate a duck and race it around the lazy river. This event is a fun take on traditional water regattas and a great opportunity to celebrate the summer fun in the sun!

Breakfast with the Easter Bunny & Spring Festival

During the Easter season we will be celebrating with the community with a day full of activities. Our Breakfast with the Easter Bunny & Spring Festival provides the opportunity for familie to gather and celebrate the joy of the changing of the season.

Doggie Dive In

You’ve had fun all summer and now it’s time for your furry best friend to dive in and droll in our pool. Our Doggie Dive In event is the coolest event for your four legged friends this summer as we close out the season with this unique special event.

Family Camp Night

Grab that flashlight and join us at Thrive for our annual Family Camp Night. Spend a few hours under the stars laughing, learning, and singing your hearts out with some of the best campfire songs around!

Thrive-O-Ween

It’s the SPOOOOKIEST time of the year at Thrive, our annual THRIVE-O-WEEN event. Put on your best costume and bring out your trick-or-treating bags for this funfilled evening for the entire family. Vendors have the opportunity to pass out candy and provide face-to-face information and interaction with hundreds of members of our community. This event is one you won’t want to miss!

Tri-Town Amazing Race

Join in the fun and support the greatest tri-town adventure in Texas! Eleven pitstops, three cities, and a day full of fun and teambuilding. Sponsors of this program have the opportunity to help make memories that last a lifetime. The perfect program to promote community and health and wellness.

Motorcycle Toy Run

Rev up those engines and spread some holiday cheer at our Motorcycle Toy Run! This helps provide cheer to hundreds of youth across the DFW area through a unique and fun toy drive. With your support, we can make the holidays a little more special for our community.

Christmas at the Cabin

Christmas at the Cabin is a celebration of the holidays 1870’s style at the Minor-Porter Log House. This event takes families on an adventure of preparing their homesteads for the holidays. Visitors will create live wreaths, tree ornaments, make a hand-dipped candle, and more while enjoying hot cider, live music, and a roaring fire.

Camp Play

Summer Break is here, but the fun never stops! Join us for our weekly summer camps, where kids can enjoy fitness, fun, and free play. Our camps provide a safe environment for children to make lasting memories through structured activities, gym games, arts and crafts, and swimming.

Wild About LLELA Summer Camp

Wild about LLELA Summer Camp is a weeklong outdoor nature camp designed to introduce the next generation of land stewards to birding, hiking, plant and animial ID, kayaking, and fishing while having fun on the trails.

Day: Monday-Friday; 3 weeks in June

Time: 8 AM-Noon

Location: LLELA Nature Preserve

My First Fish

Designed for youth, but open to anglers of all ages, My First Fish teaches fishing skills to everyone wanting to learn this relaxing yet exciting sport.

Light Cycles: Glow in the Dark Bike Ride

Light up the night for this fun glow-in-the-dark bike ride for the community through Memorial Park! This event is sure to be a hit and the last big hoorah of the Summer season. Families will get tons of information and glow in the dark items as well as get to have fun playing at Memorial Park.

Toddler Time

Take your little one on a big step into the great outdoors! Toddler Nature Time is a monthly Fall through Spring activity that fosters nature exploration in children from 18 months to 4 years old,complete with a story time, craft, and hike.

Day: 3rd Wednesday each month; Sept.-May

Night Hikes

Take a walk on the wild side by exploring LLELA at night during our guided Night Hikes. When the sun goes down, all manner of beautiful and exciting creatures come out to play. Join our dedicated and highly educated staff as they show you a different side of the nature preserve.

SPORTS AND FITNESS

Wave Swim Team Home Meet

Summer swim team will compete against other cities in the DFW area. Swimmers as young as 5 will practice all summer and have the opportunity to host a swim meet during the summer.

Doubles Pickleball Tournament

Our Doubles Pickleball Tournament is a great way for pickleball enthusiasts in our community of all skill levels to play against each other in a friendly competition.

Come learn about the sport that’s sweeping the nation! We’re thrilled to offer Pickleball classes to our community. After you take our facilitated classes, be sure to hone your skills in our open play. Join in the fun and fall in love with your new favorite sport.

Health Expo

Thrive’s annual health expo comprises multiple health and wellness businesses that offer health information to Thrive members and other Lewisville residents.

National Nutrition Month

National Nutrition Month will happen in March. Thrive will host multiple vendors to come and talk to our members about different aspects of nutrition. This event was created to supplement our daily offerings and provide a more holistic approach to wellness.

ACTIVE ADULTS

Active Adult Dances

Dancing the night away at Thrive is the best way to spend your evening! We offer a variety of dances throughout the year including our Fall Dance, Holiday Dance, Masquerade Danec, Spring Fling Dance, Summer Nights Dance, and Wild About You Valentine Dance. Dances will either provide live entertainment or have a DJ, vendors are welcome to act as DJ during those times.

Active Adult Specialty Programs

Our specialty programs include Craft Fair and Art Show, Active Adult Pool Party, Father’s Day Breakfast, Active Adult Pizza Party on the Patio, Active Adult Tea Party, Fall Festival, National Senior Citizen Day, and Mother’s Day Brunch and Fashion Show. These events will provide special opportunities for recreation.

Our luncheons happen throughout the year as a way to provide food, community, and fun to our active adults. Luncheons provide an opportunity for active adults to be social.
