Let's Make Some Racquet! Intermediate (Ages 8 - 12)

Tennis builds character, focus and sportsmanship. This program is designed to give participants the intermediate foundational skills of tennis through game play and stepby-step curriculum guided by staff. Participants must have completed the Let's Make Some Racquet beginner program. Oakview Recreation Center Thursdays, October 7 - 28, 7 - 8 p.m. $12 per person

Winter Nature Camp (Ages 8 - 12)

For two days of winter vacation, the PEC will host our Winter Nature Camp. Campers will be engaged in a giant game of "Natural Clue" with activities that use the "tools," visit the "places" and sort out the "characters" of the game. Using the classroom as a base laboratory, campers set out to find clue stations set up in the forest, grounds and garden areas. Clue stations include Talking Trees, Wild About Weather, Bird Beak Mix-up, Underground Escapes Made-up Maps and more. Activities and events take place outdoors and on the trails, so campers need to be dressed for outdoor play. Campers need to bring a lunch, two snacks and water. Full Moon Experience (Ages 11 - 13)

Students are invited to get a "feel" for the night sky during two evenings of their winter holiday break. They will learn to navigate the sky using the constellations and observe the moon, planets and deep space objects. During night walks on the trails, participants will also become familiar with the habits and ecology of nocturnal animals. Participants need to dress for winter outdoor activities and bring a water bottle. Piedmont Environmental Center Monday & Tuesday, December 20 - 21, 5 - 9 p.m. $30 per PEC member, $45 per non-member

Intermediate/Advanced Level Tennis (2) (Ages 8 - 16)

These players are near the competitive level and are beginning to understand the importance of more serious tennis focus and play. Emphasis on point play will be stressed, as well as proper technique and court movement. Oak Hollow Tennis Center Wednesdays, October 27 - December 15, 4 - 5 p.m. $112 for eight weeks, $18 drop-in fee

Intermediate/Advanced Level Tennis (Ages 8 - 16)

These players are near the competitive level and are beginning to understand the importance of more serious tennis focus and play. Power Basketball Open Run (Ages 10 - 17)

This program provides an opportunity to all past Power players looking for a place to continue exercising, developing their skills and playing competitive pickup basketball games. Morehead Recreation Center Tuesdays, September 14 - November 30, 6 - 7:30 p.m.

Allen Jay Madden Season (Ages 10 - 17)

Do you think you have what it takes to be the GOAT Madden Champion? Leave it all on the field and show us how it's done by competing against others in a weekly showdown. Game play will be on the PS4. Allen Jay Recreation Center Wednesdays, October 6 - November 10, 6 - 8 p.m. Free

High Point Youth Council (Ages 13 - 17)

Participation in the High Point Youth Council provides a unique opportunity to build leadership skills, learn organizational and administrative skills, enhance personal skills and become a member of an exciting organization. The High Point Youth Council strives to make our community a more enjoyable place for its youth through a wide variety of educational, social, recreational and service-learning projects. Open Gym for Teens @ Oakview (Ages 13 - 17)
