Fall Leaf Tours

Enjoy a long-standing High Point tradition on this annual guided tour, which takes park visitors around High Point City Lake on our excursion boat. During the 45-minute tour, participants learn about the seasonal changes and wildlife in and around the lake from Piedmont Environmental Center staff Naturalist Dick Thomas. Dick's entertaining and informative commentary, combined with amazing photographic opportunities, make this offering a seasonal favorite. Reservations will be accepted beginning Monday, September 27. High Point City Lake Park Friday - Sunday, October 22 - November 7 $4 per person, $3 for seniors

Fall Leaf Kayak Tour (Ages 16+)

Enjoy a guided kayak tour of the lovely Arnold J. Koonce, Jr. City Lake during its most scenic season. On our tour, we will see an abundance of beautiful seasonal colors with the changing of the leaves; we may even see some wildlife! Registration begins October 1. High Point City Lake Park Saturday, October 30, 10 a.m. - noon $6 with personal kayak, $15 with single kayak rental $22 with tandem kayak rental

The Sneaker Shop (all ages)

Here's a chance for the sneaker community to buy, sell and trade some of the most sought-after pairs out there! We'll showcase the Triad's largest collectors and resellers of sneakers, streetwear and art. If you would like to participate as a vendor, please contact the center or go online https://www.highpointnc.gov/pr to reserve your spot. Southside Recreation Center Saturday, November 20, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. $25 per vendor

Halloween Spooky Hoopla

Halloween Spooky Hoopla is a "Trunk-Or-Treat" event with a costume contest, face painting, balloon art, bounce houses, gaming truck, hayride, Haunted Trail and more! Event is free; food will be available for purchase from food truck vendors. Volunteers are needed to provide vehicles and individually-wrapped candies during the Trunk-Or-Treat. High Point Athletic Complex Saturday, October 16, 5 - 8 p.m. $75 per food vendor, $50 per non-food vendor
