The City of Healdsburg is proud to announce that our budget has been awarded with the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA).
This award reflects our commitment to meeting the highest principles of governmental budgeting. To earn this distinction, the City had to satisfy nationally recognized guidelines for effective budget presentation and how well the City’s budget serves as: a policy document financial plan operational guide communication tool
As one of only 1,700 recipients nationwide, Healdsburg joins a select group of governments demonstrating excellence in budgeting practices.
This award is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our city staff and elected officials.

Ahead of the winter season and long nights, the City completed repairs and replacements to over 71 lights along the Foss Creek Pathway. The work included lights from Front Street all the way north to the Community Center. Many of these lights needed repairs due to wire theft and vandalism. This is an important path for bicyclists and pedestrians year-round and lighting repairs are critical to maintaining a safe pathway. Many thanks go to the City’s Electric Superintendent Todd Woolman and our electric linemen for acquiring replacement material through manufacture warranties (saved the City nearly $100,000) and completing the repairs in a most efficient manner. Electric Department staff also added additional security features to prevent future vandalism and theft. Next chance you have, please walk or bike the City’s pathway and enjoy a late evening or early morning trip.
cup, bag, container, utensils!
Let's make a conscious effort to reduce waste and protect our planet. By choosing reusable options, we can significantly minimize our environmental impact.
Instead of disposable items, bring your own reusable cup for coffee, reusable bags for shopping, and reusable utensils for meals. Paper cups often have a plastic lining that prevents them from being recycled. While plastic bags are banned statewide, many businesses still use thicker plastic bags labeled as reusable. Opt for sturdy, reusable bags made from durable materials like cotton or canvas.
Did you know that "compostable" utensils are not allowed in your green bin? They often take too long to degrade and can contaminate compost streams.
Healdsburg has banned polystyrene products (Styrofoam). If you receive to-go orders in polystyrene containers, please voice your concerns and request a more environmentally friendly alternative.
Together, we can can make a difference!

In the event of a large-scale emergency, the City has established emergency evacuation zones for the entire community.
The City has 13 evacuation zones, beginning with “HE” followed by a number to differentiate the City of Healdsburg evacuation zones from the surrounding County of Sonoma evacuation zones.
Community members can view their zones and read their boundaries in English and in Spanish, as well as search by address to determine the location of their home and/or work zone(s). During an emergency, the interactive map will be updated to show which zones are under an evacuation order or warning.
We encourage all community members to take the time to look up their evacuation zones now, before an emergency occurs. Knowing your zone and having an evacuation plan in place can be critical in ensuring your safety and the safety of your loved ones.
Community members are encouraged to review and practice their own emergency preparedness plan, and take steps to prepare before the emergency occurs.
To view the emergency evacuation zone map in English and in Spanish, as well as additional emergency preparedness information, please visit healdsburgemergency.org.
The Healdsburg Home Energy Load Management Program will help customers automatically shift their electric vehicle charging and cooling/heating away from periods of high energy demand and towards periods of abundant renewables.

Note: No new applications for the EV Monthly Discount Program or Smart Thermostat Rebate will be accepted after November 1, 2024.
