The Healdsburg Fire Department continues vegetation management and fuel reduction work Our team has made significant progress in fuel reduction efforts near Gauntlet Road, in the foothills on the northeast side of down. These controlled burns are essential to reducing the risk of wildfires by safely removing excess vegetation.
The following burns have been postponed and will be rescheduled when conditions and resources are deemed prudent to proceed:

CONSTRUCTION OF THE MUNICIPAL RECYCLED WATER PIPELINE PROJECT CONTINUES!
Progress on the construction has been rapid. Since the start of construction on June 10, 2024, approximately 1,000 feet of 12-inch pipeline on Kinley Road has been installed, as well as approximately 2,350 feet on Kennedy Lane, Healdsburg Ave, and South University Street. The work crew crossed the SMART rails and began work on Hudson Street on Wednesday and should reach First Street by the end of this week. Next week, we expect to continue work on First Street potentially reaching the intersection with Matheson Street by the end of the week.
The proposed overall route can be found on the project webpage www healdsburg gov/recycledwaterpipeline, as well as up to date information on the project schedule. An up-to-date three-week look ahead schedule provided by the contractor is uploaded each week
This project is a significant undertaking for the City and like any work on the roadways, can be disruptive to the community. We apologize for the temporary inconvenience this project may cause. We truly appreciate your patience as we get this important work done. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to our project manager, Patrick Fuss, 707-217-3218, pfuss@healdsburg.gov.

We're thrilled to partner with the Healdsburg American Legion to bring back the dazzling Fourth of July fireworks show, and we are grateful for the financial support from the Healdsburg Tourism Improvement District for making this year’s show possible.
This year's display promises to be bigger and brighter than ever before! To ensure everyone's safety, viewing at the High School sports fields will be unavailable. However, you can still catch the spectacular fireworks from the west side of the Healdsburg High School in the parking lot area, or from various vantage points around town. With most fireworks reaching heights of 200 feet and beyond, find a spot with a clear view of the night sky above the High School.
University Avenue and Sanns Lane will be closed to vehicle traffic and parking to provide additional viewing locations. Please note that Fitch Mountain Elementary School will be closed due to construction.

Draft Plan Circulation for Public Comment: October-November 2024 Plan Adoption: January 2025
The 2025 Healdsburg Active Transportation Plan (ATP), a component of Sonoma County Transportation Authority's 2025 Countywide ATP, is designed to improve active transportation in Healdsburg. This comprehensive document, set for adoption in January 2025, will guide the implementation of local projects and policies aimed at enhancing walking, biking, and other human-powered travel. Developed with input from the Healdsburg ATP Advisory Committee and leveraging advances from previous plans and initiatives like Vision Zero, the ATP is focused on creating a safer, low-stress network that supports regional connectivity and aligns with community needs and funding priorities. This plan will not only facilitate more flexible, vehicleindependent travel but also improve health, environmental quality, and equity within the community.
For the second year in a row, the City of Healdsburg’s Public Works Department is partnering with the North Coast Builders Exchange (NCBE) to offer valuable internship opportunities Through the NCBE's North Bay Construction Corps (NBCC) program, high school seniors gain hands-on construction experience during their last semester This after-school program provides a threemonth foundation in construction trades. Taught by experienced local contractors and managers, it equips participants with industry knowledge and certifications in Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and CPR/First Aid The final portion of the program consists of two-week paid internship for students 18 years and older.
The City is thrilled to continue its support for this important program that benefits both students and the community. By providing practical construction training and internship opportunities, the NBCC program helps prepare young adults for rewarding careers while strengthening our local workforce.
