CITY MANAGER'S UPDATE

Volume 23 | Issue 15 | July 28, 2023

ON THE COVER

On Monday, July 10 the Healdsburg Fire Department conducted a prescribed burn in the foothills above March Avenue (Fitch Mountain Villa Commons).

Firefighters utilized "drip torches" to light a controlled fire line during the prescribed burn. This site underwent hours of preparation prior to the burn to ensure a safe and successful burn, and that all fire stayed within control lines

Prescribed burning is the application of controlled fire to land, and works to reduce wildfire hazards, clear downed trees, control plant diseases, improve rangeland and wildlife habitats, and restore natural ecosystems.

Thank you to the community, CalFire, and our neighboring agencies for your support during these important fire prevention operations.
