SHARE YOUR FEEDBACK ON HEALDSBURG'S TRANSITION TO DISTRICT ELECTIONS
Join us for a community workshop to learn about, discuss, and share your feedback on the City’s transition to district elections!
This workshop will give community members an opportunity to draw and submit maps that outline district boundaries. These submissions will be reviewed by the City Council alongside those created by the City's hired demographer for adoption
The City also invites you to share your thoughts on your communities of interest. Keeping communities of interest together is a valued criteria in the districting process, and your input is vital to making this process as inclusive and representative as possible.

HELP PROTECT OUR WATERWAYS: PROPER DISPOSAL OF LEAVES AND YARD DEBRIS

Help keep our waterways clean by properly disposing of leaves and yard debris.
Please collect all yard waste and place it in your green waste container for pickup. Street sweepers are designed to remove sediment and hazardous materials, not large volumes of leaves. When gutters are clogged with debris, the sweepers cannot function effectively. Per City Code, property owners are responsible for clearing leaves from their sidewalks and frontage. Your cooperation helps ensure cleaner streets and healthier waterways.

COMMUNITY SERVICES DEPARTMENT LAUNCHES SCHEMATIC DESIGN PROCESS FOR LAURA FISH SOMERSAL PARK
On Thursday, January 9th, the Community Services Department launched the schematic design process for Laura Fish Somersal Park. Fletcher Studio, the landscape architecture firm that led the park’s master planning process, organized a full-day, on-site project kick-off meeting with their team of subconsultants.
The group visited the future park site and participated in a discussion with the City’s OneStop Assistance Center to receive information and guidance from several City departments, including Community Development, Fire, Public Works and Utilities.
The schematic design process will clarify the design context for each of the park’s proposed components, and will lead to construction drawings, and bidding later this year.
A public engagement session will be planned for later this winter, so watch for more information coming soon!

ARTS AND CULTURE COMMISSION
In a key step towards implementing the goals of the City of Healdsburg’s Arts and Culture Master Plan, City Council passed an ordinance that created the City's first Arts and Culture Commission on October 7, 2024. After a rigorous recruitment and interview process, seven Commission members were appointed by City Council on November 18, 2024.
The first Arts and Culture Commission members are Michiko Conklin, Gianna Davy, Marcy Frank, Alexander Harris, Noah Jeppson, Cristal Lopez and Gina Riner.
The Arts and Culture Commission will serve in an advisory capacity to the City Council and staff to help carry out the vision detailed in the City’s Arts and Culture Master Plan. Some of their responsibilities will include broadening opportunities for participation in the arts, promoting an inclusive creative economy, and encouraging the integration of cultural programs into the fabric of the City to enrich the quality of life for residents and enhance visitors’ experiences.
The commission underwent an orientation on Tuesday, January 7th, and its first official meeting will be held at the Council Chambers on Wednesday, January 22nd, at 6:00 P.M.
The Arts and Culture Commission will typically meet on the fourth Wednesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. Regular meeting agendas, time/date changes, and special meetings will be posted at least 72 hours in advance of the meeting here
