On Thursday, March 6, 2025 Engine 6381 was dispatched to a reported gas leak at 105 Plaza St.
The Fire Department conducted a primary investigation, and it was determined that gas levels, including carbon monoxide and hydrogen cyanide, exceeded normal levels. The source of the gas leak was traced to a heater in a second-floor bathroom closet.
Engine 6381, PG&E, and the Police Department worked together to ventilate the building, isolate the area, and secure the gas supply. Employees and customers were allowed back in the building by mid-morning. There were no health concerns reported as a result of the gas leak.
This week, Mayor Evelyn Mitchell visited Healdsburg Senior Living to chat with the residents, their families and some of the community partners who work with Healdsburg Senior Living
Mayor Mitchell provided an update on current projects and various happenings around Healdsburg. This was a wonderful opportunity for the Mayor to chat with a segment of our community we don't always get to connect with!
The Ongoing Parklet Program was launched in January 2023, and staff committed to revisiting the program with the City Council for further discussion and potential modifications before the end of 2025. Do you have old solar panels that need recycling?
Join Zero Waste Sonoma, the Conservation Corps North Bay, and CalRecycle as they host residential solar panel collection events!
Solar Panels are considered universal waste, a subcategory of hazardous waste, which makes them illegal to dispose of in the garbage. Until recently, there have been very few recycling options in the state and no recycling options in Sonoma County.
To participate in this grant funded program, panels must be generated by a resident (not a business) in Sonoma County. Residents can bring a maximum of 40 panels.
For more information, please visit Zero Waste Sonoma HERE.
