Yv on ne Frederich just had her debut at the Metropolitan Gladys Garramone is another big success : she is washing windows at G.H S Reta Gee 1s the proud mother of that famous Corfman basketball team Did you know Roswell Graves finally became Fleet Admiral of the South Pacifi c? My goodness I Calvin Gunnell became the second Fred Astaire . with Shirley Temple as his partner. at M -G- M Speaking of movies Joan Hadley owns the Gem Theatre now . That's nothing : Don Herron took Lou Costello's place in the Abbott and Costello team .

Phyllis Hansen is the star reporter of the Denver Post. and that Wilma Howard runs a school for underclassmen , teaching them how to blush. Ruth Kelly's dreams came true : she has a livery stable in every state now . Have you heard Laurene King is modeling shoes at Burt's 7 For Heaven 's sakes! Did you know that Alice Lanham is design -

Herbert Schloffman couldn't get in Skating Vanities so h e started one of his o,vn. Vickie Shaeffer finally got promoted to hostess at the Hotel dining room. Walter Simpson got so tir ed of his red - haired \vife 's nagging that he bought a ranch for her and Weston Staggers just took over the Mile -Hi Turkey Farm Beli eve it or not. that cute Eldon Stewart is a hermit at CW C. WRESTLING

The Golden Hi gh matmen had a fairly su ccess ful seaso n by winning two out of thre e dual me ets . They lost to Arvada . but to avenge this def eat th ey won from Wheat Ridge and Littleton . The grapplers a lso prove d th eir ability at the Conference Meet wh en Ca rl West of th e 9 5 ~pound class took first. The standings of the rest of the team were .

Jerry Marks. 103 pounds . second.

Glenn Klin e, 112 pounds , fourth .

Wayne Se lb e. 1 20 pounds, first

Ralph L e Maire. 127 pounds, fir st.

Billy Arnold . 13 3 pounds , third .

Albert Hall er, 13 8 pounds , firs t.

H oward Moore (C apt ) , 145 pounds , first.

Lloyd Moore , 15 5 pounds, first

E rn est Came r on. 165 p o unds, fourth

Ronny Greve, 175 pounds , third

These ratings gave the Golden team a total of fifty points .

The Demons took high honors at the State Meet, \-Vith Carl West taking third place , Ralph Le Mair e placing fourth , and H o\-vard Moore taking second. The highest honor went to Wayne Selbe who won the State Championship in his class

These boys reall y deserve these honors, as does the rest of the team that was coac h ed by Ted E lkin s ( ,vhom the boys ca lled Elkins ). H e had some pretty rough material to make into a successf ul wrestling team . Many of the boys had never had any wrestling experience before . but it didn't take them long to learn Another handicap was due to the la ck of a full team. The boys did much better than expected by taking such high State and League h ono rs

Dramatics Club

Th e dramatic organization of our school is distinctly a group act1v1Ly . Its purpose 1s to develop 1n the individua l poise, self-confidence. self-expression and 1nterpretat1on It is as cultural as music and art appreciation and as stimulating as life. for one learns by doing and lives by being , and acting is very definite Jiving This year our dramatic groups have presented six one -act plays. including such favorites as "The Little Darling." " But No\v There's Buford, " "The Ring and the Look." " Life Begins at Sixteen." and a Christmas pageant. "In the Shepherds' Field " From kindergarten to University. from informal dramat1zat1on to productions of artistic calibre. the drama to us is a recognized phase of modern education.

In addition to acting , costuming, stagecraft, and make - up are features of our club and when you consider the thousands of high schoo l boys and girls who are participating 1n dramatics. you can readily see that the school and stage are today strongly influencing each other.
