EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES PRESENTATION
Thomas Moore, from Fitch and Associates, a firm specializing in public safety and EMS services, conducted a detailed analysis of the city’s emergency response times with CareFlite and additional data. He also discussed Forney’s rapid growth and the future needs required to meet the emergency medical service demands of residents. The presentation outlined potential options for the city’s EMS services, but no formal action was taken. It can be viewed online at this link.
BURGER KING SITE PLAN
Council approved a site plan for Burger King, located north of the South F.M. 548 and F.M. 741 intersection. The property consists of 1.05 acres of land zoned within the Fox Hollow Planned Development (Ordinance No. 1126). The base zoning for the property is General Retail. A drive thru restaurant is a permitted use in this planned development.

FPD GRANT FUNDING
The Forney City Council accepted grant funding for a 3D Forensic Crime Scanner, System & Software for the Police Department. The Office of the Governor approved the Forney Police Department’s grant application, awarding $105,591.94 to fund the advanced forensic technology. This grant requires no matching funds from the city.
CAPITAL PROJECTS FOR ROAD IMPROVEMENTS
Council approved agreements with PierceMurray Land Solutions, LLC for design services related to improvement projects aimed at easing traffic, improving drainage, and enhancing pedestrian safety. One project will reconstruct Estate Lane from Lovers Lane to FM 740, including drainage upgrades to reduce flooding and stormwater buildup near 628 Heritage Hill Drive. It will also add a new pedestrian crosswalk with signal upgrades to improve access to the Forney ISD school campus.
Another project will add turn lanes at FM 740 and Pinson Road/Ridgecrest Road and update traffic and pedestrian signals to improve safety and traffic flow.
