Introduction

The City of Boynton Beach continues to grow as a thriving center for business, residential, and cultural development. This quarterly report highlights key initiatives, projects, and milestones that promote sustainable growth and enhance residents' quality of life.

Over the past quarter, Boynton Beach prioritized strategic planning, infrastructure upgrades, and community engagement to drive progress. Collaborative efforts with public and private sectors have balanced economic development with environmental sustainability and inclusivity.

The report reviews ongoing development projects, zoning and permitting updates, and new business and residential contributions. It also details efforts to streamline processes, improve customer service, and ensure regulatory compliance

The Development Services team remains dedicated to excellence in urban planning, fostering innovation, and supporting a prosperous future for Boynton Beach.

Boynton Beach Economic Development has launched its Events Calendar featuring workshops, networking events like Business Over Brews, and personalizedassistancetosupportlocalbusinesses. These initiatives drive growth and provide tools for success, including exclusive sponsorship opportunities.

Out of the 38 local businesses that applied, twentythree (23) businesses were pre-approved for $125,000 in grants to support their growth and marketing efforts. These grants highlight Boynton Beach’s commitment to leading in economic development.

The Vacant Storefront Program transforms vacant storefronts into vibrant art displays, boosting foot traffic. This initiative launched at the end of the last quarterandisalreadymakingapositiveimpact.

Upcoming: On February 6, 2025, Business Over Brews kicks off at The Bungalow Bar & Grill. In addition, an Entrepreneurship Academy Program will be offered on February 13, 20, and 27 to help attendees navigate the process of becoming businessowners.

This fall, the City of Boynton Beach hosted workshops and events to support local businesses Prospera USA and SCORE offered personalized consulting in October, while Business Over Brews brought entrepreneurs together at local venues A November workshop on starting home-based businesses provided valuable insights to entrepreneurs and a Business Retention Visitation shed light on the state of established businesses in the City. These efforts reflect the City’s commitment to fostering growth and collaboration.

Grand Openings

The Economic Development Division supports new businesses and their milestones through programs like the Grand Opening Ribbon Cutting, which celebrates achievements and provides tools for success This quarter, Boynton Beach saw exciting grand openings: Replay, Byrd’s Chicken, and PBS DaVinci Experience in October; Ramen Lab and Bungalow in November; and Flagstick Golf Performance in December, highlighting the city's vibrant growth.

Follow Boynton Beach Economic Development to stay connected and support local businesses! As we head into 2025, we’re excited to share our Q1 growth.

On LinkedIn, we gained 102 new followers, bringing our total to 980. Impressions climbed by 17.9% to 11,528, reflecting increasing visibility within our professional network

Our Facebook page grew by 125 followers, bringing the total to 640 Views reached 47 9K, with a reach of 12 5K, showcasing strong community connection

Instagram now has 390 followers, with a 217% increase in views totaling 25 7K Our reach grew by 125 9%, reaching 7 9K and demonstrating the impact of our engagement efforts

Monthly Streets Clean-Up

On the third Friday of each month, Community Outreach selects a location requiring litter cleanup In the afternoon, the Community Standards team focuses on cleaning these areas, removing substantial amounts of trash and debris This quarter, they collected 505 pounds of waste, including tires and other bulky items

The "House of the Month" program celebrates homeowners who meet or exceed Boynton Beach's property maintenance standards. Recipients enjoy several benefits, including an exclusive yard sign designating their property, a $25 gift certificate to a local restaurant, and a photo opportunity in front of their home with the sign.
