• No jumping or diving into the lazy river.

spa

• CAUTION: If you are elderly, pregnant, have high blood pressure or are on medication, please consult your physician prior to use. A 15-minute time limit is recommended. The spa temperature is between 100-104 degrees. Prolonged exposure may result in nausea, dizziness or fainting.

lap lanes

• Lap lanes are for lap swimming only during designated lap swimming hours. Other water exercise should be performed in the open space outside of the lap lanes when lap swimmers are waiting for a lane.

• Lap lanes are first-come-first-serve. During peak usage it will become necessary for you to circle swim with other swimmers in your lane.

• When entering a lane with other swimmers, notify them that you will be joining them.

• When you enter the water, never dive, jump, or push off into oncoming swimmers. Wait until they have made the turn and pushed off.

• Always swim complete laps of the pool. Avoid stopping in the middle of the pool for any reason; this can interfere with other’s progress and cause collisions.

• Be aware of your space in the lane and the orientation of others.

• If you need to pass in your lane, move up to the swimmer and tap his/her foot. It is inappropriate to grab or pull the person, but a tap is a clear indication of your presence and your intent to pass. A pass must be initiated in time to overtake the slower swimmer before

the wall, otherwise there exists a strong potential for a collision as both swimmers attempt to turn at the same time.

• Slower swimmers should wait to push off the wall until faster swimmers have passed (i.e. don’t push off right in front of a faster swimmer who’s coming into the wall about to turn, as this blocks the faster swimmer). Slower swimmers should push off almost immediately behind a faster individual or group, thus extending the time until they are lapped again and need to stop.

• If you stop at the wall for any reason, squeeze into the corner of the lane so that other swimmers have ample room for turns.

• One or two swimmers please stay to one side for swimming. When three or more swimmers are present circle swimming is required.

• Lifeguards may ask you to switch lanes. Please accommodate our requests.

• Smile and enjoy your workout. When we work together, lap swimming can be a wonderful experience for all levels of fitness.

• No lap swimming will be allowed when NinjaCross is deployed.

program guidelines

• Programs are limited to an appropriate size providing max benefits to each participant.

• To receive member rates your membership must be valid throughout the time period the program is offered.

• Program fees must be paid in full at the time of registration unless specifically stated. The CRCRC reserves the right to cancel any program due to insufficient registration. If a program is canceled before the start date due to insufficient registration, a credit or refund will be given. Register early to avoid disappointment in case the class is full. If the course you are interested in is full, request to be put on the waiting list. Additional programs may be offered dependent upon sufficient interest and facility and staff availability. Waiting lists will be taken for the formation of new classes but are not a guarantee of confirmed registration for the program. You will be contacted if space becomes available.

program fees

Program fees represent the cost of providing program activities or services not included in membership dues. Program fees must be paid in full at the time of registration in order to guarantee your spot in the program. If you wish to transfer to another class after registration, you must contact the Front Desk. Unless you have written authorization from the instructor stating a change is necessary, there will be a $5 transfer fee assessed. No refunds will be issued after the class has begun.

• Online at https://secure.rec1.com/MO/blue-springs-parks-recreation-mo/catalog

• By mail via a completed registration form accompanied by a payment of VISA, MasterCard, Discover or personal check.

If you expect to register for a program on the day of the first class, please arrive a minimum of one half hour early to complete your registration and payment prior to class starting. Program registration is on a first come, first served basis. Some classes fill quickly.

make-up class policy

Due to the limited student-instructor ratio and full program schedule, there are no make-up lessons/classes for missed classes or classes canceled for any reason. Please refer to the credits/ refunds policy below for more information.

cancellation of classes

Classes must have a minimum number of participants in order to run. If a class does not meet its minimum enrollment, the class may be canceled. To ensure a quality experience for all participants, the CRCRC may also choose to combine classes due to low enrollment. If the Fieldhouse cancels a class, a credit or refund will be issued. The following is the policy that the CRCRC will follow if a class is canceled:

• At least three (3) business days before the class starts, a staff member will contact everyone enrolled in the class to let them know that the class has been canceled.

• If your class is canceled by the CRCRC, you will receive a full credit or refund.

credits/refunds

Requests for refunds must be made five (5) business days prior to the start of a program. A full refund will then be given minus a $10 processing fee. There are no refunds or credits due to inclement weather or other incidents outside of the Fieldhouse control. A refund will be issued to those with a documented medical necessity. If a registered participant requests a credit to their Parks & Recreation account, a full credit will be issued for a period of one year and balances will be forfeited if not used within that period of time. It is the desire of our organization to offer programs at the lowest possible prices. In order to accomplish this, we have established specific policies concerning refunds. Please read these policies before registering for any Fieldhouse program.

leagues

Leagues (Basketball, Volleyball, Indoor Soccer, etc.) differ from open recreational periods for the same sports because they restrict enrollment to a specific number and incur additional expenses (scorers, timers, referees, etc.). A league participation fee is charged based on a fair sharing of the costs of operating the league.

Because a player draft usually occurs, it is not possible to replace players who wish to withdraw from the leagues with people on a waiting list. Leagues are non-refundable.

summer sport camps and activity weeks

• Eight (8) days prior to class starting or greater than 100% refund minus $7 processing fee and deposit if required.

• A documented medical condition prevents the child from participating in the sport or activity camp week.

specialty classes

(i.e., dancing, yoga, sports performance training, etc.)

• 100% refund minus processing fee of $7.

• A documented medical condition which prevents the child or adult from participating in the program and the CRCRC is notified prior to the start of the program.

• The CRCRC is notified of cancellation five business days prior to the start of the program.

facility shutdown

Each August, Blue Surf Bay Waterpark will shutdown temporarily for a week to perform maintenance.

waterpark inclement weather policy

Due to the significant operating costs of Blue Surf Bay Waterpark, prudent management practice dictates that a policy is in place for inclement weather, cold weather and/or significantly low attendance. Closure of the outdoor waterpark will be based on at least one of the following parameters.

• Low attendance (after 2 p.m.) – 30 patrons or fewer in the outdoor area for at least 30 minutes

• Inclement weather – if the facility remains closed for lightning or heavy rain for 60 consecutive minutes.

• Cold weather – if the combined water and air temperature is less than 140 degrees and there are 30 patrons or fewer in the outdoor area for at least 30 minutes.

• Patrons will be given 15 minutes to exit the outdoor area.

If the outdoor portion closes due to any of the above reasons, patrons will still have access to the indoor aquatics area as well as the Fieldhouse. No refunds will be issued due to inclement weather.

If they exhibit any of these symptoms while in Child Watch the parent/ guardian will be notified of the need to sign out their child immediately. Staff cannot administer any medication or treatments.

• Occasionally, children may become upset when separated from their parent/guardian. Staff will make every attempt to soothe upset children, but if unable to sooth an upset child after 10 minutes, the parent/guardian will be notified to come pick up their child.

• We have a ratio of one (1) staff for every 10 children (1 to every 3 infants), with a maximum of 20 children in the room at a time. Our staff works to maintain our ratio at all times; however, as a drop-in babysitting program, ratios may become skewed for brief periods of time.

• We reserve the right to limit the number of children we serve to maintain the safety of all the children in Child Watch. Any child requiring greater care than the one (1) staff per 10 children ratio is unfortunately beyond the expertise and scope of our services.

• Children with an active CRCRC membership can use Child Watch free of charge! Child membership cannot be substituted for other children in a household without a membership.

• Please refrain from bringing toys and personal items from home as they may cause problems with sharing. We are not responsible for any lost, broken or stolen items. Comfort items are welcomed such as a blanket or pacifier.
