Field Improvements at Founders Park

Aventura is set to upgrade Founders Park with state-of-the-art FieldTurf, a move that not only enhances our environmental sustainability but also allows the park to remain accessible for longer hours and more days. The FieldTurf playing surface comes highly recommend and is widely utilized by local schools, universities, and other city parks.

We have eliminated the use of herbicides and fertilizer which were required to maintain the Bermuda grass playing field. These chemicals harm our waterways and require us to close the park on Tuesday’s so they could settle. Miami-Dade County bans their use on private property during the rainy season. The new FieldTurf also does not require watering, saving tremendous amounts of water from being used for maintenance. FieldTurf’s low maintenance cost frees up city resources to invest in programs and services.
