American Canyon Fire Protection District News-Ladder, December 2025
D E C E M B E R 2 0 2 5
As we enter the holiday season and the final weeks of 2025, I want to take a moment to reflect on the year behind us and extend my deepest gratitude to the community we proudly serve. The American Canyon Fire Protection District exists for one reason—to protect the people, places, and traditions that make American Canyon the safest and most vibrant city to work, play, and live. That mission is at the heart of every call we answer and every program we deliver. The holidays bring joy, celebration, and opportunities to gather with those we care about. They also bring unique safety risks. I encourage everyone to take simple steps to stay safe—practice caution with holiday lighting, keep trees and decorations away from heat sources, never leave cooking unattended, and ensure you have working smoke alarms in your home. These small efforts help us all enjoy a healthier, safer holiday season.
This year has been a testament to our community’s strength and resilience. We have faced the continuous challenge of reducing risk in a growing city, and I am incredibly proud of the dedication shown by our firefighters, staff, and partners. Whether through emergency response, fire prevention efforts, hands-on safety training, or community outreach, our team has worked tirelessly to provide the highest level of service.
As we close out 2025, please know how thankful we are for your trust, support, and engagement. Together, we will continue to build a safer future for American Canyon.
From our #AmCanFire family to yours, I wish you a joyful, peaceful, and safe holiday season.

Adopt with #AmCanFire: Finding Fur-Ever Families This December
Every December, American Canyon Fire Protection District proudly joins public safety partners across Napa County in supporting the Napa County Animal Shelter’s annual adoption drive It’s one of our favorite traditions—spotlighting animals who are ready to trade shelter life for couch cuddles, backyard zoomies, and a loving family of their very own.
For our crews, this partnership is more than a campaign; it’s a truly heart-warming experience We get to help share the stories of pets waiting for homes while shining a light on the incredible work the shelter’s staff and volunteers do all year long. Their dedication, compassion, and round-the-clock care create new beginnings for hundreds of animals in our community
Throughout December, keep an eye on our social media channels we’ll be featuring adoptable pets who are patiently waiting to become the newest member of someone’s family. Who knows? Your next best friend might be just a scroll away.

This month, the AmCanFire Explorers teamed up with the AmCan Police Department Explorers for a joint training focused on Hands-Only CPR, defibrillator deployment, and real-life fire extinguisher use. These foundational skills are essential for all future first responders, building confidence and readiness in real-world situations.
Beyond the hands-on training, the session strengthened camaraderie between the two programs mirroring the close partnership between AmCanFire and AmCanPD every day. Sharing a facility supports seamless communication on emergency scenes, ensuring our community receives the highest level of coordinated service.
A strong foundation today builds stronger responders for tomorrow.
