ISO/TR 7066-1:1997, "Assessment of uncertainty in calibration and use of flow measurement devices — Part 1: Linear calibration relationships," was a withdrawn technical report. This standard focused on the procedures for deriving calibration curves for measuring the flow rate in closed conduits or open channels and assessing the uncertainty associated with such calibrations. It replaced the first edition published as an International Standard (ISO 7066-1)
The BSI PD (Published Document) 6461 series comprises several parts, each focusing on different aspects of metrology.
PD 6461-1:1995, titled "General metrology. Basic and general terms (VIM)," provides foundational and general terminology related to metrology. PD 6461-2 is dedicated to the "Vocabulary of Legal Metrology (VLM)," focusing on the terms used in the legal aspects of metrology. PD 6461-3:1995 is titled "General metrology. Guide to the expression of uncertainty in measurement (GUM)" and offers guidance on expressing uncertainty in measurements.
Regarding IP PMM Part XIV, this refers to the Institute of Petroleum (IP) Petroleum Measurement Manual's Part XIV, which deals with "Statistics for static and dynamic measurement." It has been superseded by a document titled "HM 25. Guidelines for the assessment of uncertainty in the oil and gas industry," published by the Energy Institute. This document offers guidance on the procedures for estimating uncertainty at each stage of the traceability chain, leading to a final quantity measurement in the oil and gas industry. It emphasizes the importance of honesty and common sense and is designed to comply with the internationally accepted Guide to the expression of uncertainty in measurement (GUM:1995).
API MPM Chapter 13.2: This is part of the API Manual of Petroleum Measurement Standards (MPMS), specifically Chapter 13 on the Statistical Aspects of Measuring and Sampling, Section 2, which deals with Methods of Evaluating Meter Proving Data. Published in its 2nd edition in April 2018, it establishes basic concepts and procedures to estimate and report meter performance uncertainty in consistent and comparable ways.
NIS 3003: This standard, NIS 3003, focuses on the expression of uncertainty and confidence in measurement for calibrations. It is the 8th edition of the standard published by NAMAS.
GUM 1: The Guide to the Expression of Uncertainty in Measurement (GUM) was produced in 1993 by the Comité International des Poids et Mesures (CIPM) and the International Bureau of Weights and Measures (BIPM) as ISO/IEC Guide 98. It addresses the challenging task of estimating measurement uncertainty faced by metrologists and calibration technicians.
METER PROVING
ISO 7278 (Parts 1-4) - Liquid Hydrocarbons - Proving systems for meters used in Dynamic Measurements
ISO 4124 - Liquid Hydrocarbons – Dynamic Measurement - Statistical Control of Meters: This standard focuses on the statistical control of meters used in the dynamic measurement of liquid hydrocarbons.
API Manual of Petroleum Measurement Standards (MPM) Chapter 13.1 - Statistical Aspects of Measuring and Sampling - Statistical Concepts and Procedures in Measurement.
API MPM Chapter 13.2 - Statistical Method of Evaluating Meter-Proving Data
