ǯ -‐British productions at Pordenone Ǯ ǯ Ǥ Ǯ ǯ who watch literary adaptation not just to see the characters and plots of their favourite stories on screen, but to sate their own literary touristic desires. As I watched the films featured in the Sherlock Holmes and Beyond programme, I therefore became aware of how I, as a British viewer, was conditioned by years of film and television adaptations of Holmes tales that feature the Ǯ ǯȄor at least realisticȄsettings of the stories.
