n el marco de FITUR Screen se presentó la Región de Murcia Film Commission. CINEINFORME habló allí con el Director General de Industrias Culturales de la Región de Murcia, Manuel Cebrián, para conocer los detalles. “Durante mucho tiempo se han producido rodajes en la Región de Murcia pero siempre ha sido de forma poco continuada e incluso poco mediática”, nos comenta Cebrián. Desde hace años han estado traManuel Cebrián bajando en el lanzamiento. “Hemos empezado los últimos pero porque hemos hecho un trabajo de campo que nos permita conocer cuáles han sido las fortalezas y debilidades con respecto al resto de FC”, explica el Director General de Cultura. También era importante el timing: “Es una cuestión de idoneidad del momento. El sector audiovisual regional ahora mismo está maduro y es competitivo, antes tenía que buscarse la vida en el exterior. Ahora se ha ido creando un tejido que trabaja en producciones nacionales e internacionales. Ese tejiendo no solamente ofrece eficiencia y calidad, sino que es competitivo porque el nivel adquisitivo no es el mismo allí que en Madrid. El sector se ha unido y nos ha empujado a nosotros también. Desde la Administración ya puedes impulsar algo pero si no tienes tejido… por lo que también estamos trabajando para reforzar ese tejido”, asegura Cebrián. Desde Cultura, Turismo e Instituto de Fomento han apostado por este sector y, como subraya Cebrián, han colaborado para impulsar una red de film offices locales (ya tienen 14 Ayuntamientos adheridos) con la que “crear una homogeneización legislativa para que en cualquier municipio tengas una base similar para rodajes”. ¿Cuál es la ventaja competitiva de la región? “Tenemos una Comunidad muy pequeña pero muy bien vertebrada por comunicaciones. Puedes moverte en una 1 hora y 45 minutos entre una esquina y otra, permitiendo rodajes de interior en zonas boscosas y un día después en la playa. Tenemos localizaciones muy singulares desde el punto de vista paisajístico, con zonas declaradas Reservas Naturales, pero también en lo histórico, con un patrimonio militar que no existe en España salvo alguna zona de Cádiz (Rota) y poco más. También destaca nuestro patrimonio minero o nuestras bodegas”, señala Cebrián. Asimismo, Murcia es atractiva para rodar eventos singulares, como por ejemplo el Festival del Cante de las Minas de Unión o las Fiestas de Cartagineses y Romanos (ambas Fiestas de Interés Turístico Internacional), entre otros muchos.

Timing was also important: “It's a question of appropriateness of the moment. The regional audiovisual sector right now is mature and competitive, before professionals in Murcia had to go abroad. Now a industrial network has been created that works in national and international productions. They not only offer efficiency and quality, but also competitiveness; the standard of living is not the same there as in Madrid. The sector is united and has pushed us too. From the Administration you can promote something but if you don't have a professional network... so we are also working to reinforce this”, says Cebrián. Culture, Tourism and the Development Institute strongly support this sector and, as Cebrián emphasizes, they have collaborated to promote a network of local film offices (they already have 14 adhered municipalities) with which "to create a legislative homogenization so that in any municipality you have a similar base for filming”. What is the competitive advantage of the region? “We have a very small Community but very well structured by communications. You can move in a space of 1 hour and 45 minutes between one corner and another, allowing forest locations in the inside and beach areas. We have very unique locations from the landscape point of view, with areas declared Natural Reserves, but also historically, with a military heritage that does not exist in Spain except for some area of Cádiz (Rota). Our mining heritage or our wineries are also very valuable”, says Cebrián. Murcia is also attractive for filming unique festivals, such as the Cante de las Minas Festival or the Carthaginians and Romans Festival (both International Tourist Interest Festivals), among many others.
