GENERAL Terms and CONDITIONS LAFLAMME Doors and Windows will, at its own discretion, repair, replace, or exchange with a similar product, free of charge, any original part deemed defective within 12 months of the original delivery date or will give credit for the value of the defective product or part. Only parts used by LAFLAMME to manufacture its products will be replaced. At the end of the 12 month warranty period, LAFLAMME Door and Windows' responsibility will be limited to supplying new components upon presentation of the defective parts. All installation charges and other related costs will be at the customer's expense. Repaired, replaced, or exchanged parts will be guaranteed for the residual period as per the terms and conditions of the initial warranty. LAFLAMME will honour its warranty provided the products covered have been correctly installed and maintained and have been used under normal, non abusive conditions. This warranty, which came into effect on May 1, 2009 is the sole valid and applicable warranty. Any mentions of warranty in our brochures or our publicities are for information purposes only. No other verbal or written warranty will be considered valid. Products sold previously by LAFLAMME Doors and Windows are covered by the warranty that was in effect at date of purchase. LAFLAMME reserves the right to alter products without notice and to replace defective components with new parts that differ from the originals. In such cases, LAFLAMME makes no commitment whatsoever to modify merchandise already delivered or to manufacture new parts to fulfill the claim.
CLAIM PROCEDURE This warranty is for the exclusive benefit of the original owner (non-transferable). Any claims must be made promptly by the consumer or distributor during the warranty period. The owner must provide a clear, written description of the defect(s) to the distributor from whom he purchased the product, or to Customer Service, LAFLAMME Doors and Windows corp., 39 Industrielle, St. Apollinaire, Quebec G0S 2E0. The warranty period begins on the merchandise delivery date. Proof of purchase indicating production number must be provided on all claims, failing which the warranty is null and void.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation or consequential damages or limitation of the duration of the implied warranty. LAFLAMME Door and Window Components WHITE PVC EXTRUSIONS INTEGRAL COLOR PVC MOULDINGS AND EXTRUSIONS ALUMINUM EXTRUSIONS Natural PVC (polyvinyl chloride) and aluminum extrusions used in the manufacture of all LAFLAMME products (except if they have been nailed or screwed in) are warranted for 20 years from date of purchase against manufacturing defects, peeling, buckling, swelling, cracking, rot, corrosion, and uneven discoloration.
PAINTED PVC EXTRUSIONS – FACTORY APPLIED Paint finish on PVC extrusions used in the manufacture of all LAFLAMME products (except if the PVC was nailed or screwed in) is warranted for 10 years from date of purchase against peeling, fissuring, cracking, and uneven discoloration (more than 5 E Delta units), under normal conditions of wear. This limited warranty applies to painted PVC extrusions used in the manufacture of LAFLAMME products and painted by an authorized subcontractor. This limited warranty applies solely to the paint and covers labour costs for 12 months from date of delivery. Subsequent to this period, LAFLAMME will provide the product owner a credit equivalent to the amount paid for the "paint" option at purchase.
WOOD COMPONENTS Wood components used in the manufacture of LAFLAMME products are warranted against defects in workmanship for 5 years from date of purchase.
GLAZING (SEALED UNITS) LAFLAMME Doors and Windows corp. guarantees to the original property owner only (that is to the owner of the property where the components and the products described above are primarily installed) clear and R+insulated glass units for 15 years from the date of purchase. For the Star+ and the R3+ insulated glass units, LAFLAMME offers a lifetime limited warranty to the original property owner *. These warranties are valid for insulated glass units used in the manufacture of complete products only (patio doors and windows) and do not apply to insulated glass units sold separately (not installed in complete products). These warranties are limited to unit seal failure under normal conditions which results in obvious obstruction of vision due to film formation or dust collection between the inner glass surfaces of the insulated glass units.

In respect to the terms of these warranties, LAFLAMME shall replace free of charge, subject to the following labour cost conditions, the defective insulated glass unit. For a period of 5 years following the date of purchase, LAFLAMME shall assume the labour cost for the installation of the replacement insulated glass unit covered by the 15-year Warranty or the Lifetime Limited Warranty, as the case may be. Afterwards, the labour cost becomes the original owner’s responsibility. Sealed units used in the manufacture of LAFLAMME patio doors and windows are warranted (parts and labour) against spontaneous thermal breakage1 for one year only. LAFLAMME is not liable for any related costs (shipping, painting, scaffolding, product finishing, repairs, removal, reassembling, installation, reinstallation, etc.) * The 15-year Warranty and Lifetime Limited Warranty applies solely to products mentioned above and bought after April 26th, 2004 and is valid for the original property owner only.
DECORATIVE DOORLITES LAFLAMME steel door decorative doorlites are warranted for 10 years (stained glass, hybrid, and silkscreen) or 5 years (all other standard doorlite models) from date of purchase against defects in workmanship and defective seals (does not cover thermal breakage). Terms and conditions mentioned under "Glazing" apply in full with the exception of labour fees which are covered for a 1 year period.
HARDWARE Truth operators used in the manufacture of LAFLAMME products are warranted for life by LAFLAMME against defects in workmanship. All other hardware is warranted for one (1) year. Tandem rollers used in Eterna and Dynasty patio door panels are warranted for five (5) years.
STEEL DOORS LAFLAMME Hermetica steel and garden door panels are warranted for 10 years from date of purchase against defects in workmanship. Promo door panels are warranted for 5 years. This warranty covers any warping in excess of 1/4" (6 mm), as well as factory-applied white paint (5 year warranty for other color paint finishes). Steel doors sold with a factory-applied primer coat are not covered by the "Paint" warranty. This limited warranty excludes cases where storm doors have been installed by the customer.
Spontaneous thermal breakage manifests itself by cracks in the glass, not by points of impact.

LAFLAMME's Hermetica door system is warranted for 3 years (parts and labour) from date of purchase against any air or water infiltration (under normal weather conditions). Parts and labour needed for the repair or replacement of weatherstripping or door slabs are covered by LAFLAMME for a 1 year period from date of purchase.
OTHER COMPONENTS All other LAFLAMME door and window components not named above (screens2, weatherstripping, balances, jamb extensions, removable grilles, or sealed grilles, seal joints, patio door hardware, hinges, etc.) are warranted against defects in workmanship for 12 months from date of purchase.
ARE NOT COVERED BY THE LAFLAMME WARRANTY: • Any alterations or attempted repairs; any components painted, varnished, or coated with a solvent or any other product that may alter the PVC, glazing, weatherstripping, or hardware; all work not performed by the manufacturer or an authorized contractor • Any defect resulting from inadequate sliding patio door adjustment and any damage resulting from abusive treatment, negligence, accident, fire, or natural disaster; inappropriate maintenance or handling; improper installation (out of square, warped or inwardly/outwardly curved frame; windows not installed on a vertical plane, etc.). Also excluded are damages caused during installation or following improper installation (e.g., scratches, punctures, scuffing, etc.) or resulting from exposure to harmful vapours, chemical products, excessive temperatures, oxidation, extreme climatic conditions, poor ventilation, excess humidity, and any other circumstances beyond LAFLAMME’s control • Any color variations in wood • Water leakage not caused by a product defect • Uneven fading of color caused by unequal exposure of surfaces to sunlight, a heating element, gradual discoloration, chalking, or the accumulation of surface stains and dirt
INSTALLATION AND MAINTENANCE Our products must be properly installed in buildings for residential use only according to applicable standards, failing which the warranty shall be null and void. PVC windows will withstand the elements for many years. However, they require regular cleaning with a special PVC cleaner. In the event wooden components in doors and wooden windows are not regularly maintained and are not protected with paint or stain within 30 days of the date of delivery to protect them against water and moisture, this warranty shall be deemed null and void. This warranty does not cover the failure of real joints or wooden parts resulting from exposure to excessive moisture or condensation. Moving hardware parts must be lubricated at least once a year. For all our products, it is the owner's responsibility to check and maintain seal joints in order to prevent rotting caused by moisture infiltration. For these warranties to apply, the owner must periodically see to the upkeep of the products, apply exterior paint or stain to the wood, check seal joints (and apply new ones where necessary), lubricate hardware (moving parts), and clean weatherstripping.
GENERAL RESTRICTIONS In no case shall the liability of LAFLAMME Doors and Windows exceed the original value of the product deemed defective by LAFLAMME. Under no circumstances shall LAFLAMME Doors and Windows be held responsible or liable for any direct or indirect damages, including, but not limited to, loss of profits or income due to any defect(s) in products covered by this warranty, to the use of such products by the owner or any other party, or to any delay in warranty fulfillment due to circumstances beyond the control of LAFLAMME Doors and Windows. LAFLAMME is not liable for any related costs (shipping, painting, scaffolding, product finishing, repairs, removal, reassembling, installation, reinstallation, etc.).
• Rotting of any component used in the manufacture of our doors and windows after a period of one year.
