Firstly, Happy New Year! “New Year?” I hear you say but we are nearly in March. Yes I know and I wish to apologise for the Catalunya Chronicle not appearing in January. This is due to the fact that the Cat has had not one bout, but two counts of the Cat Flu since the New Year began and has been feeling very poorly. Plans were fully afoot to keep you - the readers - happy. I would also like to apologise to a few companies who had planned to promote their Valentines events, however circumstances proved unavoidable and the disgruntled Cat was forced to remain in one’s basket. We look forward to seeing details of your future activities within these pages during the course of the year. At this point I feel it necessary to say that, further to the many unfound rumours and speculation surrounding the publication recently - some of which if you can pardon the pun have been very “catty” -please be at ease, as, now fully recovered the Cat plans to continue prowling into both regular haunts and new locations throughout the course of 2011. I can only think of the old adage - “While the cats away the mice will play” to sum up these events, and therefore I can only assume that these people may have too much time on their hands and not enough to do.

Moving on - unfortunately, the flu has also affected our regular contributor of the “Les Mascotes” article on this occasion - we wish them well for a speedy recovery and hope that they will be scampering about again very shortly. Meanwhile, as usual, I would like to express my thanks to all of the contributors (both advertisers and writers) to the paper this month. You will notice several new articles appearing in the paper this month, of which, some will continue into a regular series. These are just a few of the many ideas the “Chronic Cat” has planned during the forthcoming year.
