Youth Corner Daiona Gordon

Daiona Gordon is a 16 year old young lady who loves to draw. She has a natural talent. She states that she started drawing at the young age of 7. When asked who isnpires her this is what she had to say, “At first I wasn’t inspired at all. I use to draw just because I was bored, plus I wasn’t any good at it. I remember one day my mom was showing me how to draw a face with sunglasses on and a body, and from there I used what she taught me and over time my skills developed.” She explains that drawing and design is definitely a career choice of hers. “Either that or I’ll be working in the library (laughs).” It was encouraging to hear that she has a great support system. We’ve seen it time and time again, whether on a movie or in real life, where artist don’t receive a lot of support from their families. “My family is very supportive, especially my mom. She is always excited about my drawings and always asking about this sticker collection we are suppose to be doing. She knows I have the potential to go far and is always encouraging me.” Her family is Christ-centered but she was going to church well before mom and dad. “I started going to church when I was about two years old with Eia (Grandmother).”
