CODE OF CONDUCT

Introduction: All members and visitors of Castle Hill Bowling Club are requested to conduct themselves in a manner that upholds the values and reputation of Castle Hill Bowling Club (CHBC) and the Castle Hill RSL Group (CHRG). This code of conduct outlines the expected behaviour for members, both on and off the premises.

Representing Castle Hill Bowling Club and CHRG: Members are considered to be representatives of CHBC and CHRG in the following situations:

1. When playing bowls at this Club or any other Club.

2. As part of any representative team on behalf of the Club.

3. Whenever wearing the club uniform or any attire that identifies them as a member of the Club.

4. When attending any function on behalf of the Club.

5. During practice, training, coaching, social games, or any other activities undertaken on the greens and/or premises of the Club or any other Club.

Code Violations: Members representing the Club are expected to adhere to the following principles:

1. Use of Offensive Language: Members must refrain from using offensive language at all times.

2. Abuse, Threats, or Intimidation: Any form of abuse, threats, or intimidation towards Club committee members, game officials, selectors or staff is strictly prohibited.

3. Compliance with Laws: Members must fully comply with all relevant State and Federal laws, including those relating to smoking/vaping and alcohol consumption.

4. No Forms of Abuse: Any form of physical, verbal, mental, emotional, or sexual abuse to another member or visitor is unacceptable.

5. Non-Discrimination: Discrimination based on gender, religion, sexual orientation, disability, or race will not be tolerated.

6. Property Damage: Wilful damage to the Club or its property, including furniture, fittings, equipment or glasses, is prohibited.

7. Conduct Becoming of a Member: Members must conduct themselves in a manner befitting a member of the Club and must not engage in behaviour prejudicial to the interests of CHBC or CHRG or the sport of lawn bowls.

8. Disrepute: Actions that bring disrepute to the Club, its members, CHRG or the sport of lawn bowls are not acceptable.

9. Social Media Usage: Members must refrain from using social media or online forums in a manner deemed detrimental or defamatory to the Club, its members, CHRG or the sport of lawn bowls.

10. Health & Safety: Always prioritise the health and safety of yourself and others in all activities and interactions. Ensure you take reasonable care of your yourself and not do anything that would negatively affect the health and safety of others.

Smoking and Vaping Policy: The Club has a no smoking/vaping policy for within the clubhouse, under the awning and on the bowling greens. Smoking/vaping is allowed at the corners of each green, maintaining a reasonable distance from any non-smoking bowlers or supporters.

Drugs in Sport: The Club condemns the use of any performance-enhancing or recreational drugs. The use or trafficking of such substances while representing CHBC is a violation of this Code.

Any perceived violation of this Code will be investigated by CHBC’s Bowls Advisory Committee in accordance with the Castle Hill Bowling Club Constitution. Depending on the severity of the violation, members may face reprimand, suspension, expulsion from the Club, or other actions as outlined in the Club’s Constitution, including possible additional action taken by the Board of CHRG, as outlined in the CHRG Constitution.

This Code of Conduct policy for Castle Hill Bowling Club Members was approved by the Bowls Advisory Committee on 16th July 2024.
