An outstanding accomplishment!
Nutrition and Dietetics graduate students led a healthy snack-making demonstration for Professor Cooper’s Introduction to Nutrition class. Finance and business majors learned how to make energy balls while discussing ingredient benefits and current diet trends. The session aligned with National Nutrition Month’s theme: Food Connects Us.
Nutrition events brought students together for hands-on, healthy fun in the dorm kitchens. From Meatless Monday in February to Taco Tuesday and Pasta La Vista in April, students cooked up delicious meals, shared free dinners, received cooking supplies, and entered to win gift cards!
In another hands-on experience, students conducted full-body composition analyses in Lienhard Hall using advanced technology. Participants gained valuable insights into their muscle mass, fat mass, hydration levels, and energy expenditure—putting classroom knowledge into practice through real-time data and personalized feedback.
Occupational Therapy students explored the therapeutic benefits of Physical Agent Modalities (PAMs), including heat, cold, and electrical stimulation. Through handson practice, they learned how these tools support healing, reduce pain, and improve functional outcomes for patients in clinical settings.
Physician Assistant-Pleasantville students on the Pleasantville campus completed their ultrasound training and put their skills into action during clinical rotations. With hands-on practice under their belts, they felt confident, prepared, and excited to apply diagnostic imaging techniques in real-world settings.
Pace University-Lenox Hill Hospital,
Physician Assistant, NYC students prepared for their upcoming clinicals with hands-on practice in sterile scrubbing and gowning labs. They mastered the art of suiting up, one step closer to making a difference in the OR!
National Student Nurses’ Association (NSNA) members cracked the code on heart health and life-saving skills during a recent event dedicated to CPR awareness and cardiovascular education. They championed heart health through handson activities—and a few even walked away with new stethoscopes! The event celebrated their commitment to saving lives and the meaningful (and unexpected) rewards that come with it.
The College of Health Professions (CHP) continues to foster an invaluable partnership with the Center for Wellbeing, consistently demonstrating dedication to encouraging a healthier community for students, faculty, and staff. Their enthusiasm and expertise shine through in every contribution that is made, from consultations and resource sharing to workshops and event collaborations.
