PHD in NURSING

TRANSFORM THE FUTURE AS A NURSE SCIENTIST
We prepare diverse nurse scientists to conduct and disseminate independent research focused on improving health outcomes of people from underserved populations. Our graduates are academic and/or clinical nurse scientists, researchers, and leaders in health care systems, universities, and professional/governmental organizations.
CURRICULUM
Our program requires a minimum of 45 credits plus a dissertation (estimated program completion 4-5 years). Small cohort classes meet on campus one day per week. The cohort approach fosters collegial support throughout the research process. Coursework focuses on scientific inquiry, teaching/learning, research design, methods, grant writing, and statistics. Each student completes a clinical research practicum and dissertation development seminars.

The PhD program at Pace afforded me the opportunity to finally complete a longstanding professional goal while working full-time as a director of nursing.

My Pace journey in the PhD program has empowered me to challenge traditional and existing practices and seek new problem-solving approaches using different schools of thought.

Earning a PhD in Nursing at Pace granted me many benefits, including networking, exploring new areas of research, publishing, and presenting at local and national conferences.
The mentorship relationships with the PhD faculty were strong and life-long and the benefit of those relationships tremendously influenced my future in nursing research.
