“Your love, Lord reaches to the heavens, Your faithfulness to the skies.”
Psalm 36:5
This past month I was blessed with a wonderful gift from one of my daughters and her husband. I was able to go on an Alaskan
Cruise - for those of you who have been on one, you know there are not adequate words to describe the beauty and magnificence of the scenery. I had wondered if being on the water for 7 days would be a challenge, but I can say for the most part it was a gentle, peaceful
ride. There were a couple of times when the wind and waves caused a bit of rocking - it reminded me of the disciples’ anxious trip across their waters Of course, their boat was much smaller and they were in the midst of a furious storm, but still those “unexpected waves” can cause some fearful moments That’s life
But I believe my greatest “aha” moment was the first night
when I stood on our deck and looked out across that massive
ocean There were no city lights, no starts, and no moon All I could
see was the light from our ship as it moved gracefully through the
waters I couldn’t see any beginning or end of the waters, nor could
I tell how deep they were. I had to trust that the ship’s captain had sailed this way before and was quite familiar with the vessel and
the path to our destination.
I was reminded by the sweet Spirit of God that He is the
Captain of my ship, and that He has maneuvered these waters because He created them. It doesn’t matter how wide or deep the waters or how high the waves appear, He will guide me safely through. I just need to continue to trust Him, as I maneuver through
this life He has given me. He is my Light and my Salvation. He is my
Shepherd, my Rock and my Anchor. He is my refuge, my Strength, and my Fortress“And His love reaches to the heaves and His faithfulness to the skies.” Praise be to the Creator of All!
Thank you for continuing to pray faithfully!
