Ilovethistimeofyear-warm,sunnydays,flowersbloomingbirdssinging theirspringmelodies,andfarmersbusypreparingandplantingtheirfields.I’m alwaysamazedandthrilledathowquicklythecornseemstopopthroughthe soilafterbeingplanted.Thosestraightrowsoffreshgreenplantsremindmeof justhowgoodandfaithfulGodisinprovidingfoodandphysicalnourishment forHiscreation
I’mthankfulnotonlytoourGod,butI’malsosogratefulforthosefarmers whofaithfullyplanahead,preparetheirfields,andpatientlywaitforthesoilto bereadytoacceptthosevaluableseeds Planning,preparation,persistence A goodfarmeriswatchful-hedoeswhatisnecessarytopreventweedsfrom overtakingthatpreciouscrop.Thehopeanddesireofthatfarmer’sheartisto haveabountifulharvest.Weareallcertainlyblessedwhenthathappens.
TheLord,too,isexpectantlywaitingforustobegoodandfaithfulspiritual seedplanters.HelovestowatchHischildrensowourseedsoflove,joy,peace, patience,aswedoourpart,thenour“WaymakerGod”will“rain”onusthrough HistenderHolySpirit.Hisdesireforustobe“planners”bystudyingHisWord; tobe“preparers”byapplyingHisWordtoourhearts,lives,speech,actions; thentobe“persistent”followersbynotallowingtheweedsorcaresofthislife tochokeoutorstealthemiraculous,healthygrowthofGod’slove OurLordis soeagertobringabountiful,abundantspiritualharvesttothisspiritually hungryworld.Heneedseachofustobefaithfulseedsowersinorderto“feed” Hischildren.
Fathers,dads,men-youhavebeencalledandordainedbyourGodtolead inaveryspecialway.Asheavenlyseeplanters,wearedependingonyouto seekGodlywisdomdailyinordertofulfillthismission.Weneedyoutobe stronginthefaithandtoknowyourvalueandworth.AsyouwalkinthisGodly positionwecanexpectandexperienceaglorious,“bumpercrop”fortheLord!
