CAMPUS Events & Tours Recap
Career Tours
Career Tours are attended by high school students and provide a unique opportunity for students to get an in-depth look at the various career paths that a technical college education offers. Through individualized campus and program lab tours, faculty presentations, and hands-on activities, students are introduced to CVTC programs within 13 different career cluster areas. More than 2,800 high school students from districts across the state participated in Career Tours in 2022-2023.

Fast Pass - Discover / Explore / Enroll
CVTC hosted Fast Pass in August 2022 and January 2023 at the Business Education Center in Eau Claire and the River Falls campus. The event gave prospective students everything they needed to know to start at CVTC. From selecting a program, applying for admission, paying for college, and finding a student club, this event took individuals from exploring college to applying for college in 90 minutes or less.

MECx: A Manufacturing Experience
In October 2022, CVTC hosted MECx at the Manufacturing Education Center. Visitors could tour the facility, explore manufacturing careers, learn about CVTC’s manufacturing programs and the newest technologies in manufacturing, and participate in hands-on demonstrations. Over 50 area employers and businesses also participated in MECx, demonstrating the importance of connecting CVTC programs to advanced careers in the community.

GOvember
In November 2022, prospective students had the chance to carve out their plans for college during Ready, Set, GOvember at CVTC. Prospective students had numerous opportunities to explore how the hands-on training in our fast, low-cost courses leads to a feast of great-paying job opportunities. Anyone who applied during GOvember received a FREE t-shirt, had their application fee waived, and was entered into a drawing to win mystery prizes and a $250 CVTC scholarship.

Wisconsin Education Fairs
Wisconsin Education Fairs was excited to offer another in-person College Fair. Students, families, and school counselors had access to over 150 colleges, universities, military branches, and specialty schools. Participants could chat with CVTC College Specialists, meet other students, learn about upcoming campus events, and more!
Apprenticeship Day
High School students visited our Manufacturing Education Center and Energy Education Center, where they participated in an employer panel, campus tours, and hands-on activities. These highlighted careers in electrical power distribution, mechatronics, plumbing, and more.
Ribbon Cutting & Open House - Transportation Education Center & Emergency Service Education Center
In September 2022, CVTC hosted two momentous events, namely the Transportation Education Center Ribbon Cutting & Open House and the Emergency Service Education Center Ribbon Cutting & Open House. Students, families, and community members were invited to explore CVTC’s state-of-the-art facilities and diverse programs. The immersive experiences featured hands-on activities, captivating color guards, and a vibrant transportation parade, celebrating remarkable accomplishments and CVTC’s community engagement.
Fall & Spring Open House
In November 2022 and March 2023, CVTC hosted Fall Open House & Spring Open House at the Business Education Center. It was an evening of career exploration, hands- on simulations, and virtual reality scenarios. There were more than 650 people who came out to both events to talk with faculty, advisors, and staff. People also got a chance to learn about services and opportunities available to students, such as Student life, Academic Support, and Diversity Resources.
Ag Skills
In March 2023, the Energy Education Center at CVTC hosted over 250 high school students interested in agriculture, providing them with a platform to demonstrate their abilities, exhibit their expertise, and present their crops through the Agriculture Skills Contest. The event featured teams competing to demonstrate their knowledge of the dairy industry through practical scenarios, while also applying their understanding of agribusiness by identifying crucial agricultural business concepts. Additionally, individual participants showcased their proficiency in recognizing a diverse range of floriculture plants. The contest included engaging hands-on skill assessments that tested the contestants’ understanding of agronomy and related scenarios. These challenges encompassed tasks such as utilizing soil mapping technology, interpreting herbicide labels, making seed variety selections, and more.
Middle School Tours
Middle School Tours are attended by middle school students and provide an opportunity for students to see CVTC campuses and program demonstrations. These tours are designed to introduce students to technical colleges and provide an interactive, hands- on career exploration experience. More than 900 middle school students from districts across the state participated in Middle School Tours in 2022-2023.
