Transcripted Credit Agreements

Transcripted credit allows high school students to earn college credit while in high school. This is accomplished through transcripted credit agreements between a school district and CVTC.

Transcripted credit courses are CVTC courses taught in a high school by certified high school instructors using the technical college competencies and grading scale. These credits are transferable to any Wisconsin Technical College and may transfer to a four-year college.

With the inclusion of dual credit in CVTC’s 2022-2023 strategic goals, CVTC increased efforts to create and support transcripted credit courses within our 11-county district. There were 77 different transcripted credit courses offered and 592 sections running in 2022-2023 across our region. In an effort to defray the cost of course development, equipment purchases, and maintenance, CVTC assisted high schools in purchasing items such as science lab equipment, industry software, and other supplies.

Start College Now

The Start College Now program allows all public high school juniors and seniors who meet specific program requirements to take classes at CVTC. This program offers credit toward both high school graduation and a college degree.

Applications are due to the high schools by March 1 for Fall semester and October 1 for Spring semester. CVTC works with high schools to offer classes in all career pathways throughout all dual credit programs to help meet the individual academic and career planning goals of all our regional high school students.
