SENIOR LIVING

An innovator in the retail, restaurant, hospitality and senior living markets, Chipman Design Architecture has its roots in the early 1950’s when Albert B. Chipman established one of the first professional practices devoted to commercial planning and design. Forming the architecture firm Chipman Design in 1979, John A. Chipman expanded the business from its initial staff of three and boldly began adding computer technology.
By the mid 1990’s, state-of-the-art computer technology as well as both individual and corporate architectural licensing throughout the United States became the firm’s trademark. National recognition grew along with an impressive list of corporate clients, and in 2004 the firm opened its West Coast office in Southern California. That national expansion has continued as offices have opened in New York and Atlanta.

Today, the firm’s Principal team, led by CEO Lauren Chipman, offers innovation and professionalism through complete architectural, interior design and branded environment services. As members of the American Institute of Architects and certified with the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards, Principals hold individual licenses throughout the 48 contiguous United States and the District of Columbia, Hawaii and Puerto Rico as well as major Canadian Provinces.
A WBE-ceritified firm, Chipman Design Architecture believes in the power a diverse community has within the public and private sectors, adding diversity and value, beyond gender, to our client’s programs, and championing systemically overlooked voices. Through membership in the U.S. Green Building Council, the leadership’s commitment to sustainability continues to reinforce recognition of the critical role of architects in today’s world - a sensitivity integrated into projects and client values.
