10 Ways to Promote Your Child's Cognitive Development  Hold your kids close while talking or singing to them as they can see up to 10 inches.  Use simple words and full sentences to help the kid learn words and sentence structure.  Narrate as you do work to get them associate with your daily routines.  Repeat phrases slowly and clearly to build word memories  Go on field trips, play outside, and put on music to develop kid's sensory perception.
