7th Annual Cheverus Catholic School Gala

Honoring Rose Shea Brian and Robin Jorgensen and Jaime Young

Dear Cheverus Catholic Family, Thank you for supporting Cheverus Catholic School! Your attendance at this year’s Gala will help with major facilities improvements and help students in need attend Cheverus. Cheverus turns 115 this year, and we strive to keep our building up to date for our ever increasing student body.

Last year, we honored former Principal Thomas Arria. Mr. Arria made Cheverus the school it is today. His love of the students and respect for the faculty and staff created a positive culture that allowed Cheverus to grow to its full potential.

This year we honor four individuals that have integral contributions to Cheverus and the Malden community. The new Mary Clougherty Award will go to Rose Shea. Rose, a former parent, set the standard for the PTA. Her tireless efforts allowed the Cheverus students and families to enjoy countless events, not to mention the fundraising goals she accomplished.

Robin and Brian Jorgensen will be honored with the Mother Théodore Guérin Award. The Jorgensens started the Sacred Hearts Malden Saint Vincent de Paul Food Pantry in an effort to help countless individuals and families with food, clothing, rent, heating oil, school supplies, and scholarships for students at Cheverus. They are also involved in Kiwanis and Bread of Life in Malden.

The Dianne Dingolo Award will once again be presented to a current employee of Cheverus. This award is voted on by the Cheverus faculty and staff. Last year we honored the very deserving Miss Ronda Young for her unprecedented volunteerism at Cheverus.

The Dianne Dingolo Award

Presented to a Cheverus Faculty or Staff Member, voted by their peers, who makes Cheverus a wonderful place to be.

“We are honored to present the annual Dianne Dingolo Teacher Award. Born and raised in Lynn, Dianne spent most of her life dedicated to education. After high school, she entered the Sisters of the Cross and Passion, teaching at their facilities in Rhode Island and Connecticut. Upon earning her Master’s Degree, she left religious life, returning to Massachusetts as a teacher at the then named Sacred Hearts Parish School Cheverus. For her ability to bring people together, empower education in students and fellow teachers, and inspire leadership in all, she was named Principal in 1988. After more than a decade of service to the Cheverus community, Dianne retired in 1998 with a legacy of love, mercy, and justice. We present the annual Dianne Dingolo Teacher Award to honor her love of Cheverus and devotion to education for all.”
