Welcome to our Autumn Term
Welcome to our Autumn Term edition of our Careers newsletter and a special welcome to new families to CGS.
This term we are mainly focusing on Post 16 Options for Y11 and Post 18 Options for Y13. Our Career Adviser, David Ritchie, is running our Y11 workshops as well as being on hand for any 1 2 1 meetings for students wishing to discuss subjects, career paths and options. We have also welcomed our new Y12 students with small career workshops.
We will be kick starting our “Talks on Tuesday” after half term with Emma Delahay from Pfizer. A full list of talks planned this term can be found in events/activities section and will be advertised around school and on our social media.
This term we look forward to welcoming back some of our class of 2021 & 2022 for Aspiration Day in December
We are also introducing talks for year 8 to 13 with information about approved technical education qualifications and apprenticeships based around new incoming government guidelines.
The Autumn is a busy time for open day events and is also the opening window for apprenticeship opportunities. This newsletter highlights events taking place over the next couple of months.
We are always looking to meet new parents and employers who are willing to help with our careers programme. Please email kate.lovelace@cheshamgrammar.org if you are willing to be a part of our careers education to help inspire our students.
Thank you for your continued support.
Mrs Lovelace & Mrs Churchett

Careers on Mircrosoft Teams
Now that the school has moved from canvas to Microsoft Teams, we are in the process of moving our careers content across. Over the coming weeks, students in each year group will be able to access career information through the student portal. This will include event information, work experience opportunities, recording of talks, useful tips and much more so please do encourage your son/daughter after half term to check out these tiles.
We are very fortunate to have this highly useful destinations resource that pulls in a comprehensive amount of information into one place.
To keep momentum going, we will be rolling out a programme to encourage students to regularly use Unifrog from Y7 through to Y13 ranging from personality tests, career hunts, logging career related experiences and much more.

To help you discover which university is right for you, apart from Unifrog, the following websites are a good starting point before visiting any open days. It is always beneficial for students to visit at least 3 universities ahead of any applications. You will need to check the university website for information about their open days/taster lessons.
