RAY OF SUNSHINE

Yellow is a colour full of hope – it lifts the spirits, signifies optimism and brightens a room. It is no wonder that it is seeing a bit of a moment in interiors as a ‘colour of the year’ at a time when rays of sunshine are needed to break through the gloom. Softer, creamier pastel shades of primrose or daffodil yellows are a gentler way to use this tone than rich mustards or citrusy lemons, and also imbue a prettiness to the home. It works well against crisp whites for a fresh bedroom, or as a charming foil to soft greys for a more contemporary take. A table dressed in yellow would make for a joyous celebration and a yellow accent will add a cheerful glow to any room.
