The unique, diverse mix of people who come together here, where everyone belongs. Because “who you surround yourself with” really does matter.
Realize your potential by first becoming more aware of the larger world around you, which is exactly what a CHC education is designed to help you do.
With the knowledge, tools and experiences you gain at CHC, the sky’s the limit in both whatever career field you choose— and the life you choose to lead.
Anchored in—and animated by—the Mission of the Sisters of Saint Joseph who founded the school in 1924, Chestnut Hill College stands committed to its fundamental core values and to providing a transformative, holistic, liberal arts education for ALL.
We believe in... an animated spiritual life
While many institutions talk about their commitment to DEI, Chestnut Hill College has a long-standing history of inclusion and actively lives that pledge every day. We strive to uplift our founders' mission to serve the “Dear Neighbor” without distinction and with active and inclusive love, and we carry this mission into our daily life, continuously cultivating a campus environment marked by equity, diversity, inclusion, and racial justice.
47% of CHC students identify as racially diverse
1/3 of CHC students are first-generation college students
100% commitment to inclusive community where everyone belongs
We’ve transformed the traditional liberal arts education into a more interdisciplinary, interrelated experience intentionally designed for today’s sophisticated students.
The CHC model merges related fields into intersecting tracks—or Centers— that prepare students to approach life from a cross-disciplinary perspective.

At Chestnut Hill College, we take great pride in providing our students—both residents and commuters—with a whole host of activities, clubs, sporting events, and a social scene that’s informed, engaged, and completely student-centered.
CHC offers dozens of clubs and hundreds of activities to participate in, plus events to attend throughout the year, which is why our students are so involved on campus and within the community. Students who join our clubs get to have fun, share their interests, build their resumes, and network with their peers. (And if you don’t find a club that interests you, you can simply create your own!)
There’s even a Quidditch Club to go with our beautiful, castle-like St. Joseph’s Hall!
