About the U.S. Military All-Stars The modern U.S. Military All-Stars was founded in 1990 at the request of President George H.W. Bush. Tryouts are held every year to form the most talented military and first responders team to compete during the annual Red, White and Blue Tour. The team features active duty, reserve, Veterans, Delayed Entry Program and First Responders. The tour has become the most popular summer exhibition in the world attracting over 25 million people annually. Over 21,500 active duty and reserve personnel have participated. The team wears camouflage uniforms with a yellow ribbon in the USA logo depicting the “S” representing “Support our troops.” Instead of their last names, the team’s players have words on the back of their jerseys to honor friends, family members, historical figures, or parts of the military. Their mission is to promote the awareness of all Americans in support of the brave sacrifices made
by our armed forces on the front lines. The goal is to compete at the highest level while providing the most patriotic entertainment in the world. The team covers all their own expenses. They deny government funding to ensure all available support goes to men and women overseas. The U.S. Military All-Stars are known for their patriotic ceremonies and include a choreographed pre-game that includes “Passing the Ground Zero Flag” and “Walk of Honor” ceremonies to recognize local heroes and everyone who has ever worn a uniform. The U.S. Military All-Stars added the Cape Cod League to its Red, White and Blue Tour in 2005 when a preseason game was played for a matchup with a group of Cape Leaguers at McKeon Park in Hyannis. Chatham hosted the U.S. Military All-Stars for exhibition contests in 2007.
