Interview with Miss Diamond Charity 2022 Lucy Hollister

Title, name & age?

Miss diamond Charity 2022, Lucy hollister, 21

What made you enter pageants in the first place?

I entered pageants because I wanted to gain confidence and selfesteem as frowning up these were things I lacked I wanted to build myself as a Person and develop into someone I could be proud of, as well as meet like minded people and raise awareness for things I’m passionate about

Previous titles if applicable/Have you competed before? If so, can you tell us about your journey?

I’ve competed for over 8 years, I’m been lucky enough to hold many regional titles and have the chance to compete international at face of beauty international representing Wales

What made you decide to compete in your current system?

I’m been a part of the diamond system since I was 14 years old There’s a reason why I keep coming back, it’s because of the family and sisterhood diamond creates! I watched a friend win the first ever diamond title and it’s been my dream ever since

What the best thing that pageants have taught you?

The best thing pageants have taught be in believe in yourself and have confidence in everything you do You matter and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise

What’s your pageant platform and why?

My pageant platform is “beyond the visible” raising awareness for invisible illness and hidden disability and removing the associated stigma with them Last June I was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis which I ignored the signs of because I was embarrassed, after around 3 months in and out of hospital and tests this year I’m now on the right medications and in remission

What’s your dream title?

My dream title is to be a diamond queen, it’s been the goal since I was so young I couldn’t see myself without diamond in my life The directors are probably bored and annoyed of me by now as this is my 5th year competing but I’ll be back again If this year isn’t my year

If you were to win what would it mean to you?

If I were to win it would mean everything to me, it would show me I am good enough despite what others say! It would help me establish myself in the pageant community, in relation to developing my platform and be able to offer my guidance and knowledge to people starting out in pageant land

What’s the best advice you have for fellow pageant queens/finalists?

Be true to yourself, you are the best version of you; no one is like you and that’s your superpower

What have you been doing in the run up to your pageant final?

I’ve been able to travel all across the uk attending events as well as fundraising for coppafeel and the Samaritans I’ve been able to establish a solid platform that I’m deeply involved in and want to make the best possible

What is your favourite ever appearance?

My favourite appearance ever was the natural beauty awards 2022 It was an honour just to be nominated for an award but then to win the award was the best night of my life. All the hard work, determination and perseverance across the years was notice by the community and make me feel like what I’m doing is reaching all across the Uk

Interview with Miss Diamond Charity 2022 Lucy Hollister

What makes a good pageant role model?

Someone who remains humble and uses their voice for those who may not be able to. Someone who’s professional but is fun and loving! Most of all someone who sticks to their guts and remains themselves and doesn’t change for anyone

What’s your favourite pageant round?

My favourite round is interview, I can talk for England so talking to the judges about myself and what I’ve done is so much fun for me

How do you deal with pageant nerves?

I use pageant nerves to hype me up, if you don’t get nerves you aren’t passionate enough Always use the nerves as a little inner voice cheering you on

MEET THE COVER STAR

Aliyah Gordon

Previous Title - IJM West Sussex Junior Teen

I competed in first pageant last year which was IJM I came 2nd runner up and won 2 side awards After such an incredible experience I decided to go back this year came 1st runner up and won six side awards

After IJM I entered the Powerhouse Photo Competition where I came top 20 !

I’m a very familiar face within the pageant world as my sister is the current Miss Teen Galaxy Europe and my mum Michelle Gordon has placed top 5 in the past two years in Mrs Galaxy UK

My platform with pageantry is animate This is a platform that tries to promote adopted animals rather than buying new ones as there is so many animals that are in need of new homes

Pageants has brought out the best in me and my confidence has grown so much.

But the question is Will I be back ? Wait and see

Interview with "Queen of Queens"

Ms. Royalty International 2023 -

Tishya Angela Del Rosario

Title, name & age?

Tishya Angela Del Rosario, 24 I am honoured to hold the rare title of "Queen of Queens" Ms Royalty International 2023 This distinguished accolade recognises the first ever highest scorer across all age divisions and segments of Miss Royalty Intern ational: interviews, fun fashion, and evening gown walk

What made you enter pageants in the first place?

Prior to my journey in pageantry, I encountered instances of misogyny, ageism, and body-shaming on social media These comments arose when I became a first-time mother alongside my aspirations for law school and maintaining a content-creation career, and unfortunately came to affect my social and family-life offscreen Hence, participating enabled me with a platform to challenge the limited perceptions others had about content creation and by extension, selfexpression A title would not only allow me to regain the confidence that was diminished, but also empower me to inspire others who have faced similar experiences of devaluation and exclusion in the face of their passions

Have you competed before? If so, can you tell us about your journey?

I previously held the title of Miss Royalty Australia in 2022 Before that, I participated as a national finalist in Top Model Australia However, the experience of pageantry was distinct as it differed significantly from the runway catwalk It was fun and challenging finding a balance between structure and projecting my own flare Suddenly finding myself on the international level a short five months after meant that I had to fast-track my learning experience Many people across that journey helped me in ways that extraordinarily contributed to my performance at the grand finale Now, with an international title, I owe this win to those people: my partner, director Hung Pham, my fellow models, friends and all the team behind the scenes who have supported me

What made you decide to compete in your current system?

I chose the Miss category in hindsight of the comments that called me "too young " to be a mother or unsuited for content creation as a member of an "outdated" segment of society. Choosing this division created the powerful statement that it is stereotyping that is outdated.

What is the best thing that pageants have taught you?

Pageants serve as microcosms of society, attracting individuals from diverse backgrounds – some driven by the pursuit of the crown, others community, and many falling somewhere in between. Yet, that is the beauty of pageantry. It provides an environment for expression, then fosters a community-based growth to empower contestants to operate and influence as true leaders, rather than as the individuals they entered as. The world is diverse, and it needs leaders.

Interview with "Queen of Queens" Ms. Royalty International 2023 -

Tishya Angela Del Rosario

What’s your pageant platform and why?

A cause that resonates with my daily life: "Mental Health across Social Media " Social media, despite being a tool for self-expression, is unfortunately a popular tool for some to throw shade Therefore, I reach out individuals like myself who simply yearn for a space to create and express themselves, only to face rejection from strangers and even loved ones I am grateful that I can empower others to never be ashamed of your passions, every day

What’s your dream title?

The Queen of Queens title is truly a dream come true Being the first mother to win the Miss Universe title would be a next dream come true, breaking barriers and inspiring others once again

What was it like when you won?

When I won the first Queen of Queens title, I experienced shock and then calming self-affirmation I had put in the hard work in the lead up to the competition and found solace in the recurring advice we received from our international Directors: "Be yourself " Finally, I had rediscovered the fearless version of myself I had once lost and winning the title meant that I had also won for many people; society’s deemed “unconventional”

What’s the best advice you have for fellow pageant queens/finalists?

Be yourself because everyone will recognise it A lot of background work goes into making sure the winner who is chosen is who she is offstage Judges love to see the underdog win, even if they didn’t initially like you! Because when she does, she has won for all those persecuted for being themselves

What have you been doing in the run up to your pageant final?

After the pageant, I took a brief one-month break from social media then resumed my law school studies in the following month Gradually, I began making appearances in various events The first event was a runway showcase where I proudly supported fellow models in my agency Additionally, I had the privilege of participating in an online law conference addressing abuse towards women and the laws that enable it I am also soon to attend a charity event

What is your favourite ever appearance?

The above-mentioned online conference My university consistently organises forums and casual conferences to provide students and professionals with a platform to exchange ideas on law-related topics After attending a few of these gatherings, I have aspired to organise similar events myself in the future

What makes a good pageant role model?

Someone who encourages individuals to thrive by not conforming to societal standards or norms They serve as a testimony, inspiring others to let their qualities shine through, as well as allow others to do the same

Interview with "Queen of Queens" Ms. Royalty International 2023 -

Tishya Angela Del Rosario

What’s your favourite pageant round?

Each segment played a significant role in my victory However, if I had to select one, it would be the interview stage which I took as an opportunity to connect with the judges on a more personal level, treating them as friends rather than evaluators

How do you deal with pageant nerves?

I find solace in prayer and self-meditation Additionally, before each significant part of the pageant schedule, I allocate around 15 minutes to mingle with staff This practice offers a sense of reassurance and reminds me that I am surrounded by a supportive community As I step on stage, seeing my new friends’ smiling faces in the audience becomes a source of inspiration

ONSTAGE QUESTIONS TIPS

Lots of systems have an on stage question this can be for all contestants or the top 5/3

This is judged and can be very nerve wracking so I’ve put together some top tips to help you be your most confident self during this time these tips can also help with an onstage introduction too

Stand up straight: When you sit or stand up straight, it helps you look taller and more successful. When you have good posture demonstrates confidence. When you look more confident you will feel more confident on the inside. Take a deep breath: Before you answer the onstage question, take a deep breath this will help yo calm your nerves and also yo collect your thoughts. This will help you stay focused during the question and help you answer it without getting muddled

Listen carefully: This will help you make sure you fully understand the question before you answer it. It will help you avoid misunderstandings or misinterpretations of the question that is being given One of the biggest mistakes contestants make is NOT actually answering the question, because they did not listen carefully, instead the give an answer that doesn’t have anything to do with the question they have been asked This could cost you the title that you have been working so hard to win.

Take your time: Don't rush your answer. It's OK to take a moment to think about your response before answering This will help you speak more clearly and get your points across. Don’t speak to fast either you want the judges to understand exactly what your saying.

Be yourself: Don't try to give the answer you think the judges want to hear Be true to you so speak from your heart and give an honest answer that reflects you not what you believe is the perfect pageant answer Many systems will give you an idea of what the question could be or the topic it could be on so a top tip is to practice regularly so it doesn’t sound rehearsed. Make bullet points of things you want to get across in your answers but not full sentences

Interview with Junior Teen Miss Royalty Australia 2022

Dakota Rose Denyer

Title, name & age?

Junior Teen Miss Royalty Australia 2022.

Dakota Rose Denyer 12 years old

What made you enter pageants in the first place?

The very first pageant I entered was a charity fundraiser pageant that was organized by one of the dance teachers at my dance school I was about 5 and my mum entered myself, my sister and herself in it for fun Then after that my mum accidently entered me in one instead of a dance competition, and we hired a cupcake dress, and after that we loved them.

Previous titles if applicable/Have you competed before? If so, can you tell us about your journey?

Last year I won Junior Miss Australia Regency International When they announced the winner I didn’t know it was me. Then after that I did a lot of special appearances and volunteering work It was a lot of fun I went to Las Vegas to compete and was the highest scorer for our Australian team I also was 3 rd runner up I also won the best portfolio and essay awards as well as charity. It was an amazing experience to get to go to Las Vegas

What made you decide to compete in your current system?

I decided to compete in Miss Royalty International because my friend had competed in it the year before and she said she had so much fun, and it was the best thing

What the best thing that pageants have taught you?

What was it like when you won?

When I have won the titles, I’ve been really excited and happy

What’s the best advice you have for fellow pageant queens/finalists?

Title, name & age?

Have you competed before? If so, can you tell us about your journey?

Yes; Ms Australia Royalty International 2021/22 and I was also a National Finalist in the 2019/2020 Ms World Universal Australia pageant My journey is not as lengthy as others, within the Pageant realm, but through my participation I have found a way to channel my passions for Service, Education and Sparkles

What made you decide to compete in your current system?

Our Director, Hung, has an established reputation for Pageants which are about Heart, Mind and Soul, as well as Diversity and Inclusivity, two particular things which mean a lot to me I wanted to join a Pageant system where everyone was welcome, supported and encouraged to be the best version of themselves -regardless of age, ethnicity, weight or background MRI encourages camaraderie among its participants, which I have firsthand experienced, lasts long past the event day

What is the best thing that pageants have taught you? Pageants have taught me to love myself, to be kind to myself and to embrace my differences and life experiences, whether good or bad As someone who has struggled with Body Image, and Disordered Eating for quite a large amount of my life, Pageants have provided me with an opportunity to accept, change and find support for the things I struggled with, as well as the chance to become a mentor and role model to others who are going through similar experiences

What’s your pageant platform and why?

My pageant platforms are Domestic Violence Education and Support Programs, and HIV/Aids Support Programs Domestic Violence was something i thought would “Never happen to me”, and with instances of not only Physical violence on the rise, but also Coercive Control, Financial Abuse and Mental/Emotional Abuse, it is critical we educate and equip the upcoming generations, as well as those ahead of us, with the toolkit to escape, survive and thrive - and in an ideal world, avoid any form of Domestic Violence HIV/Aids programs are dear to my heart because I had a close friend who unfortunately had little to no support from Family or Community while fighting his battle, and through his experience, I began to volunteer with programs where patients could find company, conversation and someone to socialise with The unfortunate societal stigma of both Domestic Violence, and HIV/Aids is sadly a major cause of isolation for the people who need to be supported and surrounded with friendship, compassion and strength the most

What’s your dream title?

If you were to win, what would it mean to you?

It would mean the world to me - to have achieved the highest honour of our system It would provide me with an excellent opportunity to champion my platforms, and raise awareness across an incredibly much larger global stage - and exposure is half the battle with raising awareness and educating about any platform

What’s the best advice you have for fellow pageant queens/finalists?

Be yourself! Be confident that the person you are, the genuine, transparent YOU, is the most beautiful, and most valuable. Many pageant entrants assume they need to present a public self that is nothing like their behind closed door selves, but the best judges and other pageant entrants can recognise who is Real, and who is Pretending - and it could cost you everything, through that pretend persona. It just isn’t worth it - and you will lose out on the opportunity to build lasting, strong bonds with your Sash-terhood

What have you been doing in the run up to your pageant final? I have started working on a social media strategy to raise awareness for my platforms, as well as cold canvassing potential sponsors and preparing to put my absolute best foot forward in 2024 Outside of pageants, I made a career decision which has seen me developing and growing in a sector i never imagined I would work in one day; as a little girl watching Rocket Launches in a classroom, I couldn’t fathom that one day I would be a part of the Space equation

What makes a good pageant role model?

A good Pageant role model is someone who has integrity, is dedicated to not only their own development and growth, but those around them, and someone who is warm and generous of heart

What’s your favourite pageant round?

I love the thrill of the Pageant in general, but I have a soft spot for Evening Gown, because I love Sparkles!

How do you deal with pageant nerves?

I try to take a few moments to focus on something that I’ve done well, and on those who I’m surrounded by. We each want to win, but we also, by the time of a final, are overjoyed whoever wins from our cohort of incredible people I breathe, and remind myself of the strength around me, in each person competing, and if i’m feeling really shaky, I make eye contact with someone I know really has my back That connection is like an instant zap of energy and enthusiasm, and gives me confidence to take on anything

Interview with Miss Teen Royalty International - Chloe Commane

Title: Miss Teen Royalty International

Name: Chloe Commane

Age: 16 years old

What made you enter pageants in the first place?

In the beginning, my mum put me into modelling, through a company called GCP Models She wanted me to regain confidence and start to believe in myself again I was being bullied from a young age, my confidence had reach an all-time low, I didn’t want to go to school, and it felt like at that stage that the Teachers were protecting the bully, instead of trying to help me and deal with the situation, I didn’t think I deserved to be happy, and I started to believe what the bullies were saying about me

Have you competed before. If so, can you tell us about your journey?

I have competed in a few Pageant systems such as, Mini Miss Tasmania, Miss King Talk Charity Australia, and Miss of Australia The journey has been a massive one of course, I started competing when I was in Grade 6, and it’s been a process of growing, maturity, individuality, and confidence So many people have guided and supported me throughout my time in Pageantry, which has given me so many opportunities, friendships, and achievements, I never thought would ever happen The Good and the Bad days, have led me to where I am today as a person

What made you decide to compete in your current system?

Since I started pageantry, I had always competed in pageants in my home state of Tasmania I had never found the courage to compete at the National level, as I didn’t see myself as being good enough to compete against the mainland competition As time went on, I was taken under the wing of 2 amazing coaches, Tanya Hill, and Abbie Freeman, they saw potential in me and helped me realise that I was good enough I then decided to compete in Miss of Australia in 2021, where I came second runner-up It was an amazing experience, 12 months later, I returned to compete in Miss Royalty International Australia, with hard work and determination I accomplished my dream and won Miss Teen Royalty International Australia and won the right to compete international

What is the best thing that pageants have taught you?

Pageantry has taught me plenty of things, but one of the best things is security To be secure within yourself, and the way you view yourself Also don’t be afraid to put yourself out of your comfort zone, if you believe, you will succeed With hard work and determination, anything is possible No one has the right to put you down

What is your dream title?

My dream title, after winning Miss Teen Royalty International Would have to be Miss Galaxy Once I finish my studies, I hope to return to Pageantry to reach my dream goal

What’s your pageant platform and why?

I am a Mental Health Advocate; I want to be that voice to start the conversation I have and still struggle with my mental health, and I found it difficult to speak up about my Mental Health, because I didn’t think that anyone would understand what was really going on in my mind In 2020 one of my friends from Primary School committed suicide Even through the tough days, this makes me even more determined to spread awareness about mental health, because everyone can be affected by this

Interview with Miss Teen Royalty International - Chloe Commane

What have you been doing since you won?

I have started to raise funds for Speak Up Stay Chatty, by having a Mother’s Day Raffle I will continue to work hard for the next 12 months to advocate for my Platform, I am planning to organise a couple of events and there will be more fundraising on the way I am looking forward to the next 12 months and being the best Queen I can be

What is your favourite ever appearance?

My favourite appearance would have to be doing a round robin photoshoot It involved around 6 photographers, other models, makeup artists and hair stylists It was great to catch up with my friends that I have met through Pageantry and many inspiring photographers, old and new Also being able to raise funds for an organisation’s that are close to my heart

What makes a good pageant role model?

A good Pageant role model is someone who is confident within themselves and what they can bring to the table Someone who is continuously kind to others and thankful for the opportunities that they are able to achieve and have A good role model is someone that the younger generation can look up to, and being approachable, just for a chat

What is your favourite pageant round?

My favourite pageant category is Fun Fashion, because it is where you have the chance to strut yourself, to have fun, be a bit playful, and have a lot of energy The outfits that you can have for Fun Fashion is amazing also, from High-lows, Capes, Skirts and Hair pieces, just to name a few

How do you deal with pageant nerves?

When I first started pageantry, I used to get really nervous I used to crack my knuckles and sweat a lot But overtime, the nerves went away, I grew more confident through the help of my coaches and my family I always try to keep to myself backstage, before I go on, so I can get in the zone and focus on what I need to do
