Title, name & age?
Ms Diamond Europe
Effy Murphy- 39
What made you enter pageants in the first place?
My 6 year old daughter asked me to take her to a pageant ! She's now 18 and we are hooked on all things pageantry !!!!
In 2015 Aisking asked me to enter Miss Ireland at Ireland Pageants
As a size 24 I laughed and said mammy can't do that ! But I gave in and done it for her ! Little did I think I'd place 1st Runner Up in 2015
So I decided I wanted that Title and I worked hard and went back to Achieve it!!!
Previous titles if applicable/Have you competed before? If so, can you tell us about your journey?
I started to compete in 2015
Mrs Cork - places 1st Runner Up
Mrs Cork - Won - Mrs Ireland 2017
Mrs Ireland Curve - Won - Mrs International Curve 2018/19
Ms Diamond Cork - Won - Ms Diamond Ireland and went to Internationals and places 1st Runner Up Ms Regency International. I am currently Ms Diamond Europe and will compete at Internationals ( Regency International Pageant) in Las Vegas in July !
What made you decide to compete in your current system?
What drew me to Diamond was their Motto - Celebrating the Beauty and Diversity because that's what we are all about !
What the best thing that pageants have taught you?
Pageantry has thought me to have wonderful Interview skills, be confident within myself, be kind to others and gain life long friends
What’s your pageant platform and why?
My Platform has always been and always will be - Mental health and suicide awareness Unfortunately I have had so many friends family and loved ones pass away to Mental Health Issues I created my Campaign #MindYourMates
This is a Campaign to raise awareness around the stigma of Mental Health and a daily reminder to Check in on your loved ones A simple call or text will make a huge difference to someone ' s day
What’s your dream title?
You know, this is a funny questrion and one I have asked many girls over the years But my Dream Title is and forever will be Mum I love my children Aisling, Cian and Ollie with my whole heart
If you were to win what would it mean to you?
If I was to win Ms Regency International it would be a dream come true and another tick off my bucket list Not many have a second chance at an International Title so for that I'm Thankful
What’s the best advice you have for fellow pageant queens/finalists?
The best advice I have for fellow queens/finalists is to always be yourself
What have you been doing since you won?
Since being Crowned Ms Diamond Europe I have been doing quite a lot of Community work I became a member of my local Musical Society and 3 to 4 nights a week, I attend meetings and rehearsals for a show ill be part of. I have done many radio and newspaper interviews and will continue to promote my Campaign and Amazing Sponsors - Earring Envy- Kylie Rose Boutique- Norma Stone for my Tan and Margaret Andersen for my Nails
I'm very Thankful to you all
What is your favourite ever appearance?
As Ms Diamond Europe my appearance so far has been meeting our Lord Mayor of Cork in her Office and signing the book as Ms Diamond Europe
What makes a good pageant role model?
A good pageant role model is someone who is committed to their role as a Queen Someone who will give 110% to their duties because she is taking on a role other girls dream of A Title is a huge responsibility and you need to show leadership and commitment and dedication to the system that you are contracted to
What’s your favourite pageant round?
My favourite round would be Interview, because you get to show and tell the work you have been doing prior to stepping on stage
How do you deal with pageant nerves?
Breath - smile and put one foot in front of the other - you got this !
My name is Caitlin Nash-Robinson, and I'm Miss Diamond Curve UK 2022 I have been involved in pageantry for almost 9 years I started as a volunteer at Miss Rutland GB in 2014, where I had no realisation of what was involved in pageantry as I was there to help a friend I continued to volunteer for another 2 years as it grew to 4 regions and in 2016 along with a close Naomi we took over directing the heat where we crowned 4 queens to go to the Miss Great Britain Finals and it was during my stint as a director that I realised I couldn't give my finalists the advice they needed as I had never been in their heels before So with that I entered Miss Divine UK in 2017 with only 8 weeks until the finals, and whilst I got the experience I was looking for I also got the Pageant bug as I felt I had gained more confidence in myself from being on stage but also gained so much more by being around so many inspiring people Due to circumstances at the time, I decided not to direct anymore and instead reapplied for Miss Divine 2018 and it's just gone on from there I have now been a part of 3 systems in my pageant journey, all of which have helped me grow and develop as a person and which has led me to being crowned Miss Diamond Curve UK and being able to have the opportunity of a lifetime when I head to Las Vegas in July this year to compete at the Regency International Pageant
During my time in pageantry I have raised over £2500 for various charities as well as helping me find and develop my platform The Femme Space where I focus on conditions that affect the reproductive system of those assigned female at birth It's a topic close to my heart as I was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) in January 2020 I use my platform to speak to others with the conditions so that I can help provide 1st hand information to anyone that it may help You will find me advocating for not only plus-size women like myself but also for anyone to be able to be who they want to be without judgment or prejudice, as this is something I have faced through the years I'm not always proud to have become the size I am but I believe it doesn't define who I am or what I am capable of
Outside of pageantry, I am a self employed taxi driver in Lincolnshire driving for the family business, which I absolutely love doing as it gives me freedom to do as I please and I just love to drive and explore which is why you will find me attending all the events I possibly can but also being there to support others as it's an important thing in my life to help others wherever or wherever I can
Title, name & age?
Khadijah Hayden, Miss Surrey International 2023, 24
What made you enter pageants in the first place? Going to school/college in the USA allowed me to be exposed to pageantry and I actually entered Miss VSU ASA and I won most improved Although I had opportunities to enter in pageants I never felt like I could because I didn’t feel beautiful and I didn’t feel like I fit into the beauty standards, but then I realised or in the year 2022, I realised that I definitely am beautiful even if I don’t feel it and also beauty isn’t everything in pageants and I was motivated to apply
Have you competed before? If so, can you tell us about your journey?
Miss caribbean UK- I represented the beautiful country of my father- Jamaica
Miss International UK is my second pageant
What made you decide to compete in your current system?
My decision to compete in Miss International UK was a big step for me, because you don’t really a lot of black representation in a lot of national pageant except in recent years However, it was actual by chance that I had seen a clip of Miss International ( the international competition) and saw that their main slogan/theme/message is to cheer all women
The message I believe resonated with me alot because I come form a very women-dominated family and a matriarchal family who have consistently shown me the importance of building community with women and cheering women from all generations I think this encouraged me to apply for Miss International because I believe I can be a great ambassador in this system
What the best thing that pageants have taught you?
That who you are is more than enough I think in pageantry especially from the outside who can have this notion that you have to be perfect but what I have learned especially doing Miss Caribbean uk, being yourself, your most authentic self will always be the most perfect being you can be and your story, your why will always make sense and will be easy to source if you know who you are
What’s your pageant platform and why?
My pageant platform is my social media and theatre platform Jahtou The target audiecne is mainly individuals that come from African and caribbean communiites in the UK, but it is a platform in which we discuss and advocate for issues that people of this demorpahic may face, for example we discuss things such as blood donation, maternal mortality rate, we talk and highlight historical figures This leads in to my other passion theatre and we are preparing to perform at Peckham Fringe a play called Taking it Back
In the run up to the pageant I am launching my campaign called Queen is which will be showcasing amazing women historically and currently in and out of the pageant world who I would consider Queens in their own right This will also be incorporating poetry into this campaign as well
What’s your dream title? Miss International - for now!
What’s the best advice you have for fellow pageant queens/finalists?
Practice, Practice, Practice (of course) and set goals and affirmations for yourself from the beginning, the goal shouldn’t be winning because you need something more than that to push you to work as hard as you have to, especially if you don’t win it will be very hard to pull yourself up from that if that is the only goal you have
What is your favourite ever appearance?
My favourite appearance as Miss Surrey International 2023 so far was the Miss Nubian Queen Pageant Launch Miss Nubian Queen UK is a pageant for curvy Afrocaribbean ladies The launch to me was entertaining because it was in a beautiful lounge in south london and there was just great vibes and the contestants/models were beautiful
What makes a good pageant role model?
I think a good pageant role model someone who exthuses confidence, positvity and encouragement I think that someone who is inspring to others and has a commitment to service and to others is someone that is a great pageant role model
What’s your favourite pageant round?
My favourite round ever is one I’ll never get to do again but is the carnival round we did in Miss caribbean uk, in which we were dressed in beautiful carnival costume and we got to walk and dance to soca music (the best genre in the world)
Outside of that I would probably say my favourite round and the one I’m most excited to do is swimsuit
How do you deal with pageant nerves?
I would like to say I handle nerves well but I don’t , even outside of pageantry To stop myself from having a complete breakdown I just tell myself affirmations quietly to myself and make myself busy doing something so I don’t have to be in my head too much Before I go on stage I am usually quiet or I will talk to a friend and try and encourage them which somehow makes me feel better

What made you enter pageants in the first place?
I got into Fashion Photography in 2013 while I was working for a Fashion Designer (FERI) and doing various different fashion shows with them In 2016 I received my first professional Camera - a DSLR and took the profession much more seriously
What the best thing that pageants have taught you ? Pageants actually have taught me many things First and foremost is adaptation; they've been able to adapt and evolve and are currently breaking new ground and new barriers, such as with LGBTQ+- particularly Trans and people with disabilities, which I have greatly noticed They are also great for empowering women and girls of all ages. I've seen a sisterhood like no other; such as a closely knit family; they continually motivate, encourage, empower and liberate each other and build each other's confidence up.
What’s the best advice you have for fellow pageant queens/finalists?
Continue to smile and always embrace your Runner-Up, either with a handshake or hug

SHE IS THE FORMER UK’S NATIONAL MS 2021/22 AND SHE IS THE CURRENT INTERNATIONAL MS UNITED KINGDOM
SORAYA STARTED THE #SWAPYOURTAN CAMPAIGN TO BRING AWARENESS OF THE HARMS OF USING TANNING BEDS, THE IMPORTANCE OF USING SPF AND THE HEALTHIER ALTERNATIVES THAT ARE OUT THERE FOR A SAFER TAN SHE IS WORKING HARD TO GET TANNING BEDS BANNED IN UK, AS WELL AS WORKING CLOSELY WITH THE CHARITY ZOE’S LAW TO PASS A LAW TO GET EVERY MOLE DEEMED APPROPRIATE FOR REMOVAL, TO BE TESTED.
CHARLOTTE HAS ALWAYS USED HER PLATFORM DURING PAGEANTS TO RAISE AWARENESS OF VARIOUS CANCERS AS WELL AS VITAL FUNDS FOR CANCER CHARITIES LIKE COPPAFEEL AND CANCER RESEARCH U.K. BUT BEING AN ECO FINALIST HAS GIVEN HER TO OPPORTUNITY TO LEARN MORE ABOUT CLIMATE CHANGE AND WHILE RESEARCHING CLIMATE CHANGE SHE FOUND THERE IS A LINK BETWEEN CANCER AND CLIMATE CHANGE AND DEVELOPED HER ADVOCACY CLIMATE CHANGE & CANCER THE 2 BIG C’S. ONE OF THE MAIN WAYS THAT CLIMATE CHANGE EFFECTS CANCER IS THAT IT CAN INCREASE THE RISK OF CERTAIN CANCERS SUCH AS SKIN CANCER DUE TO INCLUDING INCREASED UV EXPOSURE
CLIMATE CHANGE AFFECTS UV EXPOSURE BECAUSE THE STRATOSPHERIC OZONE IS DAMAGED AND ALLOWS MORE UVB (THE HIGHER-FREQUENCY, MORE HARMFUL TYPE OF UV) TO REACH THE EARTH'S SURFACE AND US
THE MAIN SIGNS OF SKIN CANCER ARE
A NEW MOLE OR EXISTING MOLE THAT CHANGES IN APPEARANCE SUCH AS IT’S INCREASING IN SIZE, CHANGING SHAPE, CHANGING COLOUR, IT STARTS TO BLEED, BECOMES CRUSTY OR BECOMES ITCHY OR SORE
OTHER SIGNS INCLUDE A SORE OR SPOT THAT WON'T GO AWAY SCALY PATCHES WITH A RED OR BROWN SURFACE LUMPS ON THE SKIN
IF YOU HAVE ANY OF THESE SIGNS IT’S IMPORTANT THAT YOU SEE A GP OR MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL SO THEY CAN INVESTIGATE FURTHER AS EARLY DIAGNOSIS IS KEY NOT JUST TO SKIN CANCER BUT ALL CANCERS
IT’S VITAL THAT YOU KNOW YOU BODY AND KNOW WHAT’S YOUR NORMAL IF SOMETHING IS OFF FOR YOU THEN SEEK MEDICAL ADVICE
