THE MACS FINE ARTS CENTER

A dream became reality August 10, 2022 when the MACS Fine Arts Center at Charlotte Catholic High School was dedicated and blessed. Diocesan and school leaders joined parents, students and alumni for the grand opening of the 47,000 square foot building, which is open for use for visual and performing arts classes at CCHS, performances by K-12 students in all of Mecklenburg Area Catholic Schools, as well as parish and diocesan organizations.

The new Fine Arts Center features a 591-seat auditorium with a fully-equipped stage, balcony, and high-quality performance and exhibit spaces. The state-of-the-art facility also includes an art room, band room, choral room, ceramics studio, dance studio, dark room, digital lab and student art display areas.

Visual and performing arts classes relocated to the new facility, freeing up space for several renovations in the existing building. The athletics wing, serving all students in PE and health as well as sports teams, was renovated to include an expanded weight room and a seminar space. Other renovations include relocation and upgrade of the engineering room, options classrooms, learning support and technology, to better serve all students.

Ground broke for this long-awaited expansion in December 2020. It was made possible by more than $6.4 million raised through the Expanding the Vision, Honoring the Tradition Capital Campaign, along with $15 million from MACS Capital Fees.
