NEW TO THE CHAMINADE 'OHANA: Asoke Datta, EdD  |  ASSISTANT DEAN, SCHOOL OF BUSINESS AND COMMUNICATION Dr. Asoke Datta was named assistant dean of the School of Business and Communication. Working closely with the dean, Dr. Datta will assess, develop and implement systems, processes and organizational changes and provide leadership to further the university’s mission. With nearly 20 years of experience, Datta most recently served as assistant dean of the College of Business at Hawai'i Pacific University. Datta began his career in education at Chaminade University, where he served as records specialist in the Office of the Registrar and as program coordinator and academic advisor for the Accelerated Undergraduate Program.

Pamela Smith, EdD, APRN-Rx, FNP-BC, APRN-Rx, RN, FNP  |  ASSOCIATE DEAN, SCHOOL OF NURSING AND HEALTH PROFESSIONS

Dr. Pamela Smith will lead Chaminade’s Community and Public Health program and help develop the Doctorate of Nursing Practice program. She brings more than 20 years of nursing, health sciences, and administrative experience to the position. Most recently, she served as chief nursing administrator, chair of the Nursing Department, at Hawai'i Pacific University. She has worked as a nurse practitioner at various clinics and hospitals on O'ahu in primary care and surgical practice. Active in professional and community organizations, Dr. Smith serves in the Hawai'i Medical Reserve Corps to assist with COVID response and vaccine administration. She also serves on statewide committees and task forces with the Hawai'i State Center for Nursing.

Jeff Scofield  |  DEAN, FINANCIAL AID Jeff Scofield was named dean of Financial Aid, where he will oversee operations of the Office of Financial Aid. He brings more than 30 years of experience to the position. He most recently served as assistant vice president, student financial services for Seattle University. Scofield is active in professional organizations; he is a member of the Pacific Financial Aid Association, National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators, Western Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators and The College Board.

Jill Higashi  |  ASSISTANT VICE PRESIDENT, ADVANCEMENT Jill Higashi is excited to join the Advancement team. She previously served as the director of the Annual Giving program at Punahou School and more recently as the chief financial officer for Variety School. Jill will manage and develop strategies for the major gift program, annual giving program, alumni giving program, faculty and staff giving, athletics, stewardship and the planned giving program.

Charisse Pudiquet  |  DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR, ADVANCEMENT Originally from Waialua, Charisse Pudiquet spent the last eight years in Oregon working in the advancement offices at Pacific University and Willamette University. Charisse joins our team with experience in annual fund, major gifts, and gift planning. In her new role at Chaminade, Charisse is the liaison for the sponsored scholarship program at Chaminade – cultivating and stewarding the university's relationship with its generous donors. She also is the university’s gift planning officer – working closely with alumni and parents and their advisers to help establish their philanthropic legacy with Chaminade.
