Born in Prague, currently studying at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow.

Throughout the years I learned to work well both individually and teamwork, those skills are already proving to be very useful at the university and at some of my past workplaces. I am not afraid to try new things..

INTERESTS

I have naturally leaned toward more creativity based activities. Thus I had developed many skills related to such even before I started university. Those self-learned skills later proved immensely useful during studies and thankfully the ‘self-learning’ aspect also helped me further develop them as was needed per project basis.

These skills derive from drawings but also from my, as of lately, most passionate hobby of photography which I would tightly link to travelling as a whole. Travelling has helped me understand the world better, be it from cultural differences view or even just the scale of different places. Taking photographs to later retouch at home helped me capture those values and study them later even if I am no longer at location.

Travelling is also closely related to my ever-changing residence. Even though, I was born and raised in Prague, ever since university started I have already lived in 3 other different cities and I have certainly gained a lot of experience from such. I certainly cannot wait where life takes me in the future..

About

Dogger Bank is an office/industrial development located in South Shields.

It provides an operation and maintenance base for the one of the largest offshore windfarms in the world. It is a joint venture between SSE and PARTI I. Equinor.

Dogger Bank was also my first extensive real life building experience that began with an initial site visit and site analysis and later continued throughout the more technical stages. Currently it is moving towards the RIBA Stage 4.

The construction of the project is due to start in autumn of 2021.

When assisting on the project I was also tasked with designing much of the changing room for the overall plan. The room was designed as per the official guidance of the BS 6465 approved document Part M. I have also worked on various drawings related to this room, Changing Room Layout Plan including putting together a sanitaryware set of sheets that also featured the toilets, accessible WCs and others.

The form of the building is a delicate combination of new contemporary architecture and traditional features of surrounding, mostly 19th century, buildings.

The 1030 hub makes a statement without being intrusive to traditions and historic connotations flowing through the veins of Schaerbeek, Brussels.

About

In the heart of Glasgow right by the Merchant square lies a new housing unit for the elderly. Overlooking a newly created square with the potential to be used for Christmas markets during winters or farmers’ markets during springs makes up for the perfect environment to create a new community whilst also retaining and deepening the connection with the current one.

Environmental assessment and strategies Thanks to the amount of glazing present at the apartment the active heating demands are not as high.

However, during heating seasons I shall be employing underfloor heating systems for maximum efficiency.

- its added benefit is the human sensation where we are more susceptible to radiant heat and therefore require less to reach comfort levels.

Underfloor heating energy demands shall be fulfilled from several sources - main one being an underground heat pump (thus only requiring energy necessary for the pumping itself). In conjuction to the heat pump are solar thermal panels to even further limit the energy usage for even the pumping.

Aside from heating an MVHR system by Nuaire with an outstanding efficiency of 95% is deployed in each apartment (minimising potential maintance disruptions) for mechanical ventilation. Due to their compactness, MVHR units can be fitted either in upper kitchen cabinets or separate storage rooms (if the apartment type allows so)

About

Where most corners of St Andrews tend to just follow the rules of the street the newest addition to the St Andrews University, the Design library, strives to differ. With its sharp aesthetic it is defying said rules and further highlights the importance of a street corner.

Church of St Serf

ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH IN CULROSS december 2018

About

Located in Culross, the church takes a strong inspiration off its rich history as an important trading post in Scotland. The element of water for instance is reflected in the sharp form of the building which then subsequently also allows plenty of natural light inlets. St Serf’s church also features an adjacent priest residence separated by a compact but serene courtyard.

About

Housed in old harbour warehouse in Leuven is a brand new cultural centre to combine a concert hall, auditorium and an exhibition. The building had been previously used for customs but is finally getting a full refurbishment. As much of the original building as possible is retained (including the majority of the structure) but is now to be used in a very different manner. The conversion process was a group effort and had a significant emphasis on structure and acoustics.
