SPD | MILANO DESIGN WORKSHOP 2021 GROUP PROJECT / project brief

The task was to design a pop up store in a week, for the brand “pamar” to display their products at an exhibit. It is a 10m by 10m space at a corner with 2 open sides. We decided to allow the customers to choose their own path by creating 2 entrances. There is a central meeting area for when the customers want to purchase or have discussions. There is a little pantry with waiting area. The main products are displayed on 2 walls at the bottom right. the meeting area wall doubles as a display of the best products in each line

It is balanced by using neutral colours in the rest of the store with white, or light wood textures.

woolrich

INTERIOR DESIGN LAB 2

GROUP PROJECT 2021

/ project brief

Woolrich is a popular american clothing brand that sells outdoor wear. They are well known for their innovation of having a cold room where the customers can experience the warmth of the parka in -20 degree celcius. Our approach was to design for the future of woolrich as a brand as they are moving toward urban wear. This inspired us to use the city as the concept by recreating the shadows and colours of the city. The whole store is designed as a way finder so people experience walking through the store starting from the origin to present day.

02

/ location

/ brandvalues

• American heritage: The original products mirrored the “american dream”: wear Woolrich to pursue your goals, regardless of the elements. The heritage connects to the present and future and remains true to empower everyone in the elements.

• Iconic brand elements: As America’s oldest outdoor clothing brand, the products have become icons in their own right. The Buffalo Check, for example, with its distinctive red and black pattern, has been a symbol for americana and workwear.

• Purposeful design: The product design ethos is pure, considered, consistent: This approach to product purpose informs the use of materials and technological production techniques that make all the items fit for all elements.

The store is visually split into two parts. the left of the store represents the city with a vintage influence. The right side of the store upon entrance represents vintage style with reference to the materials and textures of the city’s urban landscape. The areas are enclosed within boxes of varied sizes emphasising the “walking part of the concept. This journey later comes to a halt at the cafeteria with glass facade and ceiling.

The elevation shows the city with a vintage influence. Materials like resin and mesh make it feel industrial while the brick used as counter and furniture gives the space a vintage aesthetic. The frames of the mesh boxes are shaped to replicate the shadows and lights of the city like the doors and windows lit up at night time.

salarpuria sattva

project brief

A family of 3 was looking to move into their new home. I was the lead designer of this project where this young couple wanted a contemprary house with bold red accents around the house. Here is a selection of work from this project that was loved by both me and the client. The living room has classic elements like the beeding and wainscotting but with a contemporary twist. The daugher’s bedroom is a tropical wonderland.
