Congregat ion Bet h El Religious School Spring is typically when we plant our gardens, flowers and trees. This spring we have had to cultivate a variety of new and different learning activities for our Religious School students. In a recent sermon, Rabbi Sholklapper mentioned that we all have thorns and roses in our lives. I would like to take time to smell the roses and focus on what has begun to blossom during this time. - Online classes started on March 22. There have been two sessions each week. One for Kinder through third grade. One for fourth through seventh grade. - Our classes start with a song, survey or a quick engagement item. - We have a modified service. - We have been learning about Passover through Kahoot, surveys and discussions. - We have a little Hebrew; UTube has been helping us with the four questions. The song even has the words in Hebrew for us to follow along! - We have had time for discussions. - We have had a non-tech component as well. The students are asked to do something as a family and then send a picture. - Students can bring their pets and we do not have to worry about allergies!

While this is not the ideal situation for all of us, we are finding the rose petals. The biggest rose is that our children still feel that they are part of the Religious School community. They are excited to see each other every week. They want to share and are engaged! Please remember to look for and take time to smell the roses in your own lives!

Congregat ion Bet h El Preschool CBE Preschool has been up and running enjoying our children and their families online. Our wonderful Nickels family has organized weekly Tot Shabbats on Zoom which has been so much fun. Pre-K has been having lessons on Zoom with Ms. Gabrielle and Ms. Aliyah and our Toddlers have been working on their curriculum with Ms. Marcia?s at home lesson plans. Our music teacher, Ms. Carolyn is having Tot Havdallah with our little ones which is always a relaxing and wonderful way to start the week, especially during these turbulent times. We had our first drive-by caravan. Our teachers visited all of our students driving by their homes. We exchanged smiles, laughs and it was really nice to exchange verbal conversation even from our cars with the kids. Our students made posters, artwork and even serenaded the teachers with homemade drums. It was a fabulous day. We will be having another drive-by for our students in the Greatwood area. Although challenging at times the preschool has been maintaining connections with our preschoolers and their families. Hopefully, we will have a Passover Hang out and programming for the rest of the year as best we can. From all of us at CBE preschool Happy Passover to everyone. We love and miss our CBE Community. Please stay safe and healthy.

Greene Family Camp?s newest virtual experience, K?Far Time! In Hebrew, K?far means village. While we cannot be together physically, our new ?K?far Time? experience will allow our campers to gather virtually through age-specific social hang-outs and programs. Over the summer and at our weekend events, our campers end their night with ?K?far Time,? gathering with their friends and counselors outside their cabins to chat, laugh, and enjoy quality time together. Now, while we are not currently at camp, we are bringing K?far time to YOU. GFC and NFTY-TOR will host K?far Time for your campers?units. This will be a chance for your campers to meet and spend time with other campers who will be in their unit (age-group) this summer, and to connect with friends new and old. At GFC, we believe that # CampFriendsAreTheBestFriends, and ?K?far Time? is a chance to create and grow these friendships before summer even begins! The table below provides important information about each K?far Time and a button to access the virtual experience! Hang out with your unit one time or every time! It?s up to you!
