Agnes Tsang connected with the Catholic Community Foundation (CCF) to create a fund that would reflect her gratitude to God and her devotion to our Blessed Mother. Through the Foundation, Agnes lifts up her community, brings her faith to action, and celebrates her Vietnamese culture. As with Agnes, the CCF can help you intentionally support the causes that inspire you.
Nancy Guy dedicated her life to serving as the school secretary at St. Edward the Confessor Catholic school because her heart was set on helping children receive a quality education. After her untimely death, Nancy’s husband, Wayne, and their two daughters, Mary and Meredith, established a scholarship through the Catholic Community Foundation (CCF).
Now, students like Lucy (pictured holding her award) are supported through a scholarship that honors Nancy’s legacy.
2022 St. John Paul II Award Recipient, Klara Buconic Cvitanovich
Athalie Macgowen’s generosity will live on for eternity. A permanent endowment was created through the Catholic Community Foundation (CCF) to help care for Archdiocese of New Orleans priests in their retirement. The Macgowen endowment is restricted to support the retirement costs of priests like Fr. Mike Kettenring and Fr. Francis Carabello (pictured above).
Donors are invited to support cause-related funds such as the Macgowen endowment. Your generosity can add to the support of our beloved clergy for generations.
The Catholic Community Foundation (CCF) Women’s Giving Circle (WGC) focused its 2022 grants on ministries offering enrichment services for children in Pre-K to 7th grade. Enrichment services that were supported through the WGC were geared toward the individual needs of children to foster creativity, promote psychological well-being, and stimulate a rich interior life.
In 2022, the WGC awarded $170,000 to 9 programs providing behavior health services, case management, counseling, crisis care, education and support services. Thank you to our faithful members for hearing the call and making a difference.
Growing up under the dictatorship rule of the former Yugoslavia, Klara Cvitanovich learned the importance of helping those in need. After immigrating to the U.S and opening Drago’s Seafood Restaurant with her late husband, she did not hesitate to give back. From feeding thousands after Hurricane Katrina to sending aid to her war-ravished homeland, Klara lives her life generously. The Catholic Community Foundation (CCF) was honored to present Klara with the 2022 Saint John Paul II Award.
The award recognizes the stewardship exhibited by a Catholic layperson of high moral character and exemplary values who has offered unselfish volunteer service to the institutions and programs of the Archdiocese of New Orleans.

Former NFL star and Saints legend, Danny Abramowicz and his wife were impacted by other young Catholics during their faith journey. Since then, the couple embraced the evangelization of young adults as their own mission. After 56 years of marriage, Danny’s beloved wife, Claudia, passed away. To continue her legacy, Danny established a fund through the Catholic Community Foundation (CCF). The Claudia Abramowicz & Family Fund is dedicated to forming young adults as disciples of Jesus. This year’s #iGiveCatholic campaign hosted by the Catholic Community Foundation (CCF) celebrated the local community rallying together to give over $2 million to Catholic parishes, schools, and nonprofit organizations across the Archdiocese of New Orleans. The national #iGiveCatholic raised over $18.5 million for ministries in 42 dioceses throughout the U.S. Despite challenges and the economic downturn, Catholics remain generous and continue to support the Church in her needs.
