CfBThashadthepleasuretoworkinpartnershipwiththeMinistry ofEducationsince1984.Sinceourinception,wherewestartedwith 15 teachers, we now employ 200 teachers, both primary and secondary,inalmosteveryschoolinthecountry.
Inanygivenyear,ourteachersmayteach17000pupilsandtheirinfluence may be seen in not only their educational achievements, but more importantlytheirloveforEnglishasalanguageofcommunicationand learning.
Our teachers and education managers are highly experienced and qualified, and consequently it is importantthattheyalsosharethisknowledgewiththeirlocalcolleagues.
ThisisvitalinordertocreateapositivelegacyinBruneischoolsandcontributetoasustainableeducation systemoutlinedinWawasan2035.Duringourtimehere,ourteamhaveledarangeoftrainingprogrammes, coordinatedandundertaken'LessonStudy'withBruneianteachers,developedandsharedresources,created EdTVprogrammes,jointlylednationalevents,suchastheSpellingBeeandmanyotheractivitieswhichhave ledtocapacitybuildingwithinBrunei'seducationsystem.
WeareproudofwhatwehaveaccomplishedthroughourpartnershipworkingwiththeMinistryofEducation andwelookforwardtowhatthefuturemaybring.

SCOPEANDREACH: SupportingthevisionofBrunei Darussalamtodevelopintoanation whichwillbewidelyrecognisedfor theaccomplishmentofitseducated andhighlyskilledpeoplemeasured bythehighestinternational standardsby2035.
ThegovernmentofBruneihasbeen investinginqualifiedand experiencedteachers,throughCfBT, formanyyears,recognisinghow importantitisforchildrentodevelop advancedEnglishskillstorealise theirownpotentialandthepotential ofBruneiintheglobaleconomy.
Theseteachersareafocalpointfor schoolsinbuildingtheskillsand confidenceofteachersinEnglish, whocanthengrowthatconfidence andpreparednessinthechildren theyteach.
Thetrainingthatisbeingdelivered today(andinthenextfewyears)is creatingaworkforcewiththeskillsto succeedinthe2020sandbeyond.
Wewillcontinuetoinnovateinthe subjectmaterialthatwecoverwith teachers,toensuretheyarebeing trainedtotheveryhighest internationalstandards,withthe mostrelevantfutureskills.

Thepathtowards2035maywellhave unexpectedtwistsandturns,aswe haveexperiencedthroughtheCovid pandemic.Educationsystem resilienceisessentialtokeepour progressontrack.
CfBThasbeenabletomitigatethe impactsoflearninglossthroughthe pandemic,upskillingon-line pedagogicalpracticesforexample, andworkingwiththeMoEandexam boardsonhowtorespondtoexam challenges.Wehave, alongsideourpartnersin government,learned howtobeagileand responsiveandbuild resilienceinto educationdelivery.
Takentogether,thesefocalareasof excellenceinteachersupport,teacher training,modernskillsidentification, sustainablemethodsandsystem resiliencewillhelpBruneirealisethe visionofgrowingachievementand recognitionofasystemthatachieves againstthehighestinternational standardsby2035.

Onlineresourcesportalintroductioneventand teachers'visittoCfBT'slibrary
OnMay4th,theELTteamorganisedaResourcesEventthatleftteachers feelingempoweredandexcitedaboutthefreephysicalanddigital educationalresourcesavailabletothem.
Theevent,whichtookplaceviaZoom,exceededexpectationswitha whopping200attendeesfrombothprimaryandsecondaryschools. Teachersweretakenonavirtualtouroftheresourceportal,introducedto theCfBTvalues,andgiventutorialsonhowtoaccessthematerials.
Butwhatreallystoodoutweretheresourcesthemselves.TheELTteam showcasedarangeofmaterialsthatcateredtoallstudents,regardlessof theirphysical,cognitive,academic,social,oremotionaldifferences.
Forvisuallyimpairedstudents,therearebraillefictionbooks,includingtitles bysought-afterauthors,J.K.RowlingandNeilGaiman.Asforstudentswith dyslexia,dyslexia-friendlyfictionbookswillbecataloguedinthelibraryonce theyarrive.
OneofthemostpopularresourcesamongteacherswastheESLdigitalplatform.ThispowerfultoolgivesEnglishLanguage teachersaroundtheworldaccesstohigh-qualitycontentandinteractivecoursewarethatcaneasilybeintegratedinto existingcurriculaorserveasaprimaryresourceforbothin-personandonlineclasses.TheplatformisaccessibleonlytoCfBT staffandteachers,butlocalEnglishteacherscanliaisewithCfBTteacherstodownloadthematerials.
Inadditiontothewealthofresources,theELTteamemphasizedtheimportanceofinclusiveeducation-accepting, understanding,andcateringtostudentdifferencesanddiversity.Theyalsoemphasisedtheneedtocontinuously improvestandardswiththeresourcestheyprovide,withtheultimategoalofpositivelyimpactingstudentoutcomes.
