• Pre-Production & Production (6 credits): Course covers Directing & Script; Screenwriting; Cinematography & Lighting Exercise; Camera & Film Language Seminar; Working with Actors
• Post-Production & Final Product (3 credits): Course covers Editing; Color Grading; Sound Design; Final Film Screening
CZECH LANGUAGE (3 credits)
FAMU INTERNATIONAL ELECTIVES (1-3 credits)
• Direct-enroll in courses at FAMU with other international students.
• Past courses include: Essential Elements of Film Sound, Film Style & Form, Acting Theories, Script Analysis, and Soundtrack Aesthetics.
Study at Film and Television School of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (FAMU)
Live in an apartment with CET peers & Czech roommates
Support from FAMU faculty, mentors, & CET staff
PITCH, CREATE, & SHOOT ON FILM
You create a 7-10 minute film in 16mm or 35mm with your group. Creating an entire film in one semester won’t be easy, but the end result will be worth it.
• The first half of the program focuses on pitching, screenwriting, and developing your group.
• At the end of the program, get the hands-on experience you’ve been craving: attend lighting and sound workshops, shoot on location with real film, and put it all together in the editing room.
