Zeta Eta Eta Chapter
Greetings, Esteemed Members of the Southeast Region,
On behalf of Zeta Eta Eta Chapter, we extend a heartfelt welcome to the 71st Significant Southeast Regional Conference here in the vibrant and culturally rich Hilton Head, South Carolina! We are honored to have you with us as we gather to celebrate our shared mission – especially during Women’s History Month – a time when we recognize the remarkable contributions of women throughout history and our communities while deeply rooted in Gullah Geechee heritage.
As you know, the Gullah Geechee people are the descendants of enslaved Africans who worked on the rice plantations of the Lowcountry. This unique culture offers us profound lessons in resilience, community, and creativity as we uplift the voices of women who have shaped our culture. Throughout this conference, we invite you to embrace the spirit of this unique legacy — where collaboration and storytelling thrive.
While you explore this beautiful island, take a moment to appreciate the flavors, rhythms, and traditions that define Gullah Geechee culture. From the delicious Lowcountry cuisine that tantalizes your taste buds to the heartfelt music and art that express our shared history, let these experiences inspire and motivate you as we navigate this transformative journey together.
We've crafted an exciting lineup of speakers, workshops, and networking opportunities, all influenced by the wisdom of the Gullah Geechee community and empowerment of women. We encourage you to engage deeply, share your insights, and connect with fellow Sorors and Fraters. Embrace the idea of “wanter” (wanting) to learn.
Thank you for joining us, and for your commitment to advancing our shared goals and vision. May this experience be as enriching as the culture that surrounds us!
Happy networking, and once again, welcome to Hilton Head!
