Greetings from the 1 Aiant SERD

Greetings Sorors, Fraters, Fellow Nurses, and Esteemed Guests,

It is my distinct honor to bring greetings on behalf of the Southeast Region as your First Assistant Southeast Regional Director during this momentous occasion the 71st Southeast Regional Conference! Our theme, R.I.S.E. Resilience, Innovation, Service, Empowerment: Elevating Nursing Excellence, captures the essence of who we are as members of Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Incorporated. It challenges us to continue our mission of advancing nursing while serving our communities with steadfast determination and compassion.

I extend heartfelt gratitude to our support chapter, Zeta Eta Eta Chapter of Orangeburg, South Carolina, for their exceptional efforts in helping bring this vision to life. Your dedication and meticulous planning have created an atmosphere that fosters both fellowship and professional growth.

I also take this opportunity to congratulate our esteemed Southeast Regional Director, S. Elaine Leonard, on hosting her first in-person Southeast Regional Conference. Soror Leonard, your leadership and vision exemplify the spirit of innovation and empowerment we celebrate today. Thank you for continuing to be a trailblazer, introducing groundbreaking ideas to elevate nursing, our region, and our beloved Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Incorporated®.

As we gather here, let us remain committed to our purpose, embracing resilience, creativity, and service while empowering each other to rise to even greater heights. Together, we are stronger, bolder, and more capable of making an enduring impact on the nursing profession and beyond. Thank you for allowing me to serve in this capacity, and I look forward to a conference filled with inspiration, knowledge, and the sisterhood and brotherhood that makes Chi Eta Phi so special.

Sisterly,

Phyllis Carter Goodman, MSN-Ed, RN First Assistant Southeast Regional Director

Greetings from the Support Chapter Basileus

Greetings, Esteemed Members of the Southeast Region,

On behalf of Zeta Eta Eta, the Support Chapter, it is my honor to extend a warm and heartfelt welcome to the 71st Southeast Regional Conference here on the beautiful Hilton Head Island, nestled within the Geechee Gullah Heritage Corridor.

Under the theme RISE: Resilience, Innovation, Service, Empowerment, we gather to celebrate our shared mission and purpose while embracing the unique cultural tapestry of the Geechee Gullah people. Their legacy of resilience in the face of adversity, innovation in preserving traditions within a rapidly evolving world, and commitment to uplifting one another through service mirrors the values we hold dear as an organization.

We invite you to immerse yourselves in this vibrant cultural heritage. Through our Support Chapter events, we aim to bring a piece of this rich history to life, offering opportunities to learn, connect, and be inspired. May the spirit of empowerment from this extraordinary culture fuel your passion for service and strengthen your dedication to making a lasting impact.

As your hosts, we are committed to ensuring that your time with us is exceptional. Please do not hesitate to reach out if there is anything we can do to make your stay more enjoyable.

Together, Let Us RISE, united by our purpose, uplifted by this experience, and ready to continue leading with resilience, innovation, service, and empowerment.

Greetings from the Support Chapter

COMMITTEE CHAIRS

Greetings, Esteemed Members of the Southeast Region,

On behalf of Zeta Eta Eta Chapter, we extend a heartfelt welcome to the 71st Significant Southeast Regional Conference here in the vibrant and culturally rich Hilton Head, South Carolina! We are honored to have you with us as we gather to celebrate our shared mission – especially during Women’s History Month – a time when we recognize the remarkable contributions of women throughout history and our communities while deeply rooted in Gullah Geechee heritage.

As you know, the Gullah Geechee people are the descendants of enslaved Africans who worked on the rice plantations of the Lowcountry. This unique culture offers us profound lessons in resilience, community, and creativity as we uplift the voices of women who have shaped our culture. Throughout this conference, we invite you to embrace the spirit of this unique legacy — where collaboration and storytelling thrive.

While you explore this beautiful island, take a moment to appreciate the flavors, rhythms, and traditions that define Gullah Geechee culture. From the delicious Lowcountry cuisine that tantalizes your taste buds to the heartfelt music and art that express our shared history, let these experiences inspire and motivate you as we navigate this transformative journey together.

We've crafted an exciting lineup of speakers, workshops, and networking opportunities, all influenced by the wisdom of the Gullah Geechee community and empowerment of women. We encourage you to engage deeply, share your insights, and connect with fellow Sorors and Fraters. Embrace the idea of “wanter” (wanting) to learn.

Thank you for joining us, and for your commitment to advancing our shared goals and vision. May this experience be as enriching as the culture that surrounds us!

Happy networking, and once again, welcome to Hilton Head!
