What does it mean to be Christian? How do I choose to show God’s love to all?

Unit Focus In this unit students will develop an understanding and appreciation of mission and the call to mission through Scripture, story and the study of contemporary lives. They will be introduced to people who, through words and actions, are committed to the mission of Jesus. The students will be invited to develop and implement ways to continue the mission of Jesus in the school and community.

Achievement Standards By the end of Year 6: Students identify Jesus' words and actions as a model for living a life of authentic service to others. They explain how Jesus taught us how to respond to God's commandment to love others.

Unit Outcomes By the end of this unit students should be able to: 1. Articulate their understanding of the mission in their own context. 2. Identify ways in which they can continue the mission of Jesus.

Key Understandings for Students ● I am part of the Church. ● Jesus calls the Church to be compassionate. ● We are called to live and share in the mission of Jesus.
